Abstract:
It relates to computer communication technology. A method and system for transmitting voice messages are disclosed. The method includes: voice data collected by the first intercom terminal are received; whether the size of the voice data collected reaches a predefined threshold are circularly detected; and when the size of the voice data collected reaches the predefined threshold, or when the voice data collected doesn't reach the predefined size but contains a voice message terminator, the voice data collected are upload to the transit server via a predefined network, to realize asynchronization between voice data collection and uploading. Thus the problem of the prolongation of the intercom data transmission time associated with existing processes is solved by such an effective intercom data transmission method. In this method, the collection and uploading of the voice data can be done asynchronously, thus the delay of intercom can be reduced and the experience of the users of intercom terminal can be improved.
Abstract:
A modem or associated computing or testing device is configured to detect the presence of one or more faults that affect DSL communications, and upon their detection, generate, for example, an indication, communication or message that recommends corrective action. In this context, a fault is generally caused by one or more unfiltered devices, impulsive noises, malfunctioning modems, or other factor that does not affect measured attenuation or measured noise, but does affect the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the link. In addition to being able to generate a message guiding a user through corrective action, the system can estimate the rate impact of the detected fault.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention relate to an electronic device and/or program therefor configured to modify alert modes of the electronic device. Specifically, based on at least one predetermined criterion (e.g., a set of time coordinates, a calendar entry, etc.), a reduced alert mode may be activated in which the electronic device may be silenced or subject to a reduced volume. However, when a communication attempt is received on the device, the sender thereof will be identified and compared to a list of approved senders. If the sender is an approved sender, the reduced alert mode will be deactivated. In alternative embodiments, the reduced alert mode may be deactivated when an emergency call is received, and/or a predetermined number of communication attempts have been received from a single sender. In yet another embodiment, the electronic device may be placed in a heightened alert mode.
Abstract:
Methods for enabling call center agents to adapt their servicing of incoming calls based on the estimated value of the calls are disclosed. In accordance with the first illustrative embodiment, when there is a “high-value” call waiting in the queue while one or more agents are currently servicing lower-value calls, an agent who is servicing a lower-value call is informed that there is a higher-value call waiting in the queue, and is prompted to provide an estimate of how much longer he or she will be servicing his or her current call. The call center system selects which agent the high-value call will be routed to based on: (i) the agents' responses to the prompts, and (ii) for each of the responding agents, a measure of how closely prior responses from the agent compared to the actual amount of time taken by the agent to complete servicing the call.
Abstract:
Implementing calendar-based power reserve includes identifying a new calendar entry scheduled into a calendar application of a mobile communications device. The new calendar entry specifies a telephone call. Upon determining a priority indicator has been set for the new calendar entry in the calendar application, the calendar-based power reserve also includes directing a power management component of the mobile communications device to reserve an amount of power for the telephone call, and updating a battery power indicator on the mobile communications device to reflect a capacity of a battery of the mobile communications device. The capacity reflects a current amount of available power for the battery minus the amount of power to reserve.
Abstract:
A processing apparatus, including: a query statistics unit which inputs a query request for querying a destination for first telephone number, and counts the number of input query requests; and a restriction control unit which transmits to a restriction control apparatus which performs outgoing call restriction, a restriction request to restrict a telephone call by second telephone number, when the counted number of the query requests is equal to or greater than a restriction start threshold, wherein the telephone call by the second telephone number is restricted by transmission of the restriction request, and a telephone call by the first telephone number is performed.
Abstract:
A workforce requirement calculation device 10 accepts at least call volume in a particular period of time, an average handle time for a call by the operator, and a maximum queuing time before abandoning queuing of a call, as input parameters, initializes a number of the operators, calculates a probability of queuing of the call using the Erlang C formula based upon at least the call volume and the number of the operators, calculates a call abandonment rate as a service objective based upon at least the probability of queuing of the call and the input parameters, and calculates the workforce requirement for operators in order to meet a predetermined service objective by recurrently repeating the calculation of the probability of queuing of the call and the calculation of the call abandonment rate, with respect to an increase and a decrease in the number of the operators.
Abstract:
A call handling system receives an asynchronous call request, from a call requester, requesting performance of an operation, where the call request includes a delay parameter specified by the call requester. The call handling system performs the requested operation, and sends a callback to the call requester, which includes partial results from performance of the requested operation, at selected intervals determined by the delay parameter.
Abstract:
A method of displaying contact information on a communication device includes storing a plurality of contacts and corresponding statistical information pertaining to communications on a communication device. Input is received relating to the statistical information. The contacts are displayed based on the input and the statistical information.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for managing a spam number in a mobile communication terminal are provided. The method includes determining a spam index for each of at least one phone number using a reception record by phone number, and determining spam number registration or non-registration for each phone number depending on the spam index.
