    摘要: When a no-communication state is detected for a predetermined time of time during communication in response to an interrupt designation to or from an apparatus on the other end of the line, an operation of a time monitoring timer for terminating the communication is interrupted. The time monitoring timer is restarted in response to a restart designation. Therefore, communication can be continued without interrupting an interrupt/restart service provided by, e.g., an ISDN due to a time-out error. When a trouble which disables communication occurs during communication, an interrupt service is requested to a network. When the trouble which disables communication is recovered, a restart service can be requested to the network. In this case, communication can be normally restarted without being accidentally terminated intermediately.

In the device, two CODECs are provided in two corresponding information channels among information channels and analog sources such as a handset and a communication function control unit operative in a G3 facsimile mode for encoding and converting switching information, supplied from the analog sources to the information channels, to a digital signal, and decoding and converting switching information received from the information channels, to analog signals. Analog switches are provided between the analog sources and the CODECs to switch among the analog switches and these CODECs to send and receive signals to and from the analog sources and the CODECs. Thus, simultaneous communication of image information (G3 mode)/image information (G4 mode), image information (G3 mode)/voice information, and voice information/voice information is possible depending on the aspect in which the analog switches are switched.

    摘要: A communication device includes: a communication control section; a variable resistor; a voltage detecting section; and a resistance value adjusting section. The communication control section performs control necessary for facsimile communication. The variable resistor is arranged between two line-connecting terminals, each of the line-connecting terminals is for connecting a telephone line. The voltage detecting section detects a line voltage of the telephone line to which the variable resistor is connected under closed state of the telephone line. The resistance value adjusting section changes a resistance value of the variable resistor. When the changed resistance value of the variable resistor becomes a standard resistance value to be a voltage value where the line voltage detected by the voltage detecting section is capable of the facsimile communication, the resistance value adjusting section sets the resistance value of the variable resistor to a resistance value for the facsimile communication.
