Abstract:
A method and computer program product which allows both phone-based and IP-based clients to participate in a single audio conference. The method enables at least two multi-point control units (MCUs) (i.e., conferencing servers) to connect via a standard data linkage (i.e., full-duplex dial-up or IP link). The method and computer program product enables the phone-based MCU to handle the phone clients and the IP-based MCU to handle the IP-based clients, while connecting the two to allow each participating client to hear all other participating clients.
Abstract:
A mobile device, method, and machine instructions for mobile device communication are provided. The mobile device includes a voice call continuity status checker to determine a voice call continuity status and use the voice call continuity status to determine whether to initiate voice call continuity related activities. The method includes determining a voice call continuity status and using the voice call continuity status to determine whether to initiate voice call continuity related activities. When executed, the machine instructions perform a method that includes determining a voice call continuity status and using the voice call continuity status for voice call continuity related activities.
Abstract:
Provided are an integrated switch and a switching method for simultaneously processing IP data and voice signals using silent periods during communication. The integrated switch provides a function of transmitting data packets using the silent periods during the communication of an existing switch subscriber, so that an existing frequency band and apparatus can be used without use of a separate frequency band and a separate apparatus for data transmission such as an existing asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL). In addition, efficiency of an existing switch can be increased without use of an apparatus for collecting and processing data provided in front of subscriber line cards.
Abstract:
For the recognition of a teleservice when establishing a call in a telephone network from a calling party to a target subscriber, on the basis of the call request, in an exchange of the network, preferably a target exchange assigned to the target subscriber, a signal identifier is temporarily applied to the requested call, for a duration that is at least sufficient for the calling party to send out a service call signal that indicates a teleservice. If a service call signal was received by the signal identification, this signal is evaluated with regard to the indicated service, and further handling of the call is carried out as a function of the service indicated in this manner.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method for realizing voice preference over packet data service and voice service in a CDMA system, comprising: when a mobile station is in a data service call, transmitting a message that indicates there is a voice service to the mobile station if a mobile switching center has detected a voice service that directed to the mobile station; switching the mobile station from the data service call to the voice service to realize voice preference over packet data service and voice service. The method provided by the invention for realizing voice preference over packet voice and data service can provide maximum flexibility and allows a user to make selection based on specific situation to decide whether to answer a new voice call, thereby satisfying user's needs to the largest extent.
Abstract:
A method of routing signalling information at a signalling point of a telecommunications network. A Global Title Routing Case (GTRC) table is provided for mapping Global Titles to GTRCs, where each GTRC is allocated a primary and secondary destination signalling point. At least one peak time period is predefined, and said primary and secondary destination signalling points are swapped during said peak period to allow for load sharing during this period. For a signalling transfer request received at the signalling point, the Global Title associated with the request is mapped to a GTRC using the GTRC table, and the destination signalling point is determined in dependence upon the primary and secondary destination signalling points allocated to the mapped GTRC and signalling point availability, and, the time at which the request is received.
Abstract:
In the communication system, data transmission time suitable for data transmission and the quasi-data transmission time are set in one period in accordance with the transmission path, and first data and second data are transmitted in multiplexed fashion. Bits are assigned in such a manner that the first data of one period can be transmitted during the data transmission time for one period, and also in such a manner that the second data for a predetermined period can be transmitted in the portion not assigned the first data in the data transmission time for the particular predetermined period.
Abstract:
An off-hook management telecommunication system comprising a DTMF detector, an encoder and a microprocessor located within a channel unit. The system allows the user to depress a selected sequence of keys during a line connection which indicate to the microprocessor to hold the line off-hook, via signaling to a central office, despite the fact that the telephone is being returned to an on-hook position. The line is held off-hook for a predetermined amount of time to allow the user to switch telephones.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of transmitting data at a time-variable data rate, to a connection control module for a network facility (SW1, SW2) therefor, and to a communications module for a user terminal (T1-T5) therefor. In the method, a user terminal (T1-T5) sends to a facility (SW1, SW2) of a network (NET) a request for a connection to a communication partner (T1-T5; CS1, CS2) with a guaranteed data rate (DVT1, DVT2, DVG1, DVG2). The network (NET) establishes the connection and makes the guaranteed data rate available therefor. The user terminal (T1-T5) performs a first data transfer on the connection to the communication partner. Then the connection is released. During the existence of the connection, the performance of the following steps is proposed: determining a portion (FVT1, FVT2, FVG1, FVG2) of the guaranteed data rate not currently used by the user terminal; releasing the unused portion for at least a second data transfer; and, if necessary, again making available the entire guaranteed data rate, including the previously released portion, to the user terminal.
