摘要： An animal-resistant latching system for inhibiting animals from accessing food and food containing refuse within containers is disclosed. The device is composed of an access panel containing an opening to which is secured at least one latching members, a cam assembly, a cover, and a bracket. The latching members are positioned so as to inhibit access to the container when the member is in the latched position and allow access to the container when the member is in the unlatched position. The cam assembly communicates with the latching members so as to move the members between the latched and unlatched positions. The cover and bracket are dimensioned and positioned on the access panel in a predetermined manner so as allow human hands access to the cam assembly and unlatch the container while simultaneously inhibiting such access by animals.

摘要： This invention relates to a lock assembly to be used in conjunction with two or more padlock assemblies. The lock assembly comprises a main body 1, a main shackle 2, and a locking portion 7. When all subsidiary padlocks 5, 6 are locked into the apertures 3, 4 the main shackle 2 cannot be opened. The removal of either subsidiary shackle allows the locking portion 7 to circumvent the second subsidiary shackle and the main shackle 2 may be opened. This allows two persons to independently use the padlock without sharing keys or other secure information. Moreover the lock assembly may be used with any secure fitting designed for use with a traditional padlock.

摘要： A shackle lock includes a lock casing, a lock core received in the lock casing, and a shackle unit which has first and second shackle connecting members extendible into first and second shackle holes in the lock casing and a flexible shackle portion connected to the shackle connecting members at two opposite ends. The first shackle connecting member engages the lock core when the lock core is operated to a locking state, and is disengaged from the lock core when the lock core is operated to an unlocking state, thereby permitting removal thereof from the lock casing. The second shackle connecting member is provided with a spring-loaded retaining member for engaging the lock casing. The retaining member is accessible with the use of a tool inserted into the first shackle hole after removal of the first shackle connecting member, and is adapted to be actuated by the tool for disengaging from the lock casing in order to permit removal of the second shackle connecting member from the lock casing.

The casing is composed of a housing and an end cover. The body is inserted into the housing through a large opening in one end of the housing and the housing has an small opening defined in the other end. A latch opening is defined through the housing and aligns with the locking hole. A plurality of catches is formed in housing and extends out from the large opening. The end cover has a hole aligned with the keyhole and a plurality of slots defined in an inner wall. The catches are respectively attached to the slots to attach the end cover to the housing and securely hold the body in the casing.

In one wall there is a slot to receive a hasp of a staple and hasp locking mechanism. In another wall there is a hole to be useful with a plug-type locking mechanism. Traversing two of the remaining wall is a continuous slot for use with a variety of other locking mechanisms. The hollow structure is square in cross-sectional dimension and is sufficiently large to admit a padlock through one of its open ends and long enough to allow a padlock to completely enter therein through one of the open ends.

摘要： A lock system for a horizontal tool box wherein the latching mechanism for the lid may be operated from the proximal end of the toolbox and locking is achieved by means of a single padlock which is likewise located at the proximal end of the toolbox. An elongated latch rod is slidably disposed adjacent a front wall of either the body or lid components of the box. Latching portions of the latch rod are disposed to slidingly engage flanges that extend from the opposite component of the box to latch the components together at multiple locking points, the elongated latch rod being slidably disposed to engage or disengage each locking point substantially simultaneously. The padlock and the elongated latch rod are disposed such that the padlock body blocks the longitudinal movement of the proximal end of the latch rod and maintains the latch rod in the latched position when the body components are in the closed position and the padlock is locked, but the proximal end of the latch rod passes between the shackle and the padlock body to move the latch rod to the release position when the padlock is unlocked.

摘要： A padlock concept consisting of a novel shackle comprised of two tapered shackle elements arranged so that they overlay each other to enclose and opening sufficient to accept the staple of a hasp or attachment device. The shackle elements are connected at one end and when unlocked and unlatched are free to move apart, in a motion causing the two shackle elements to separate, providing a clearance between them, at the unconnected end. Each shackle element includes an opening to allow the staple of the hasp to pass to the common opening. This clearance occurs in opposing elements so that when the elements are brought together or closed the staple of the hasp is completely enclosed by the two shackle elements which substantially fill the space available within the hasp staple. The elements are then latched and locked to provide the security function of a padlock engaged with the staple of a hasp or attachment device.
