Abstract: A vehicle drive system includes a first prime mover, a transmission, a power take-off (PTO), a lubrication system for the transmission and the PTO, and a control system. The transmission is powered by the first prime mover. The transmission is configured to rotate a drive shaft of the vehicle. The PTO is connected to the transmission at a first interface. The PTO includes the first interface and a second interface. The control system is configured to control fluid flow through the lubrication system for at least one mode where the input section of the PTO is stationary and the output section rotates.

Abstract: A cylinder head cover for a hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engine includes a head cover body and an outlet passage. The head cover body defines a main passage for blow-by gas that has leaked from a combustion chamber to a crankcase. The outlet passage is connected to a downstream end of the main passage and conducts the blow-by gas to an intake passage. The main passage includes a restriction in a middle of the main passage. The cylinder head cover further includes an auxiliary passage. The auxiliary passage is connected to a section of the main passage that is on the upstream side of the restriction. The auxiliary passage conducts the blow-by gas to the outlet passage or the intake passage.

Abstract: Various embodiments include a method for monitoring the ventilation of a crankcase of an internal combustion engine with combustion chambers and a nitrogen oxide sensor arranged in an exhaust system, the sensor configured to detect an amount of nitrogen oxide in exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine. An example method includes: determining a predefined operating mode of the internal combustion engine defined by substantially no combustion of an air/fuel mixture taking place inside the combustion chambers; determining an amount of nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gas during the predefined operating mode of the internal combustion engine using the exhaust gas sensor; and identifying functional ventilation of the crankcase if the detected nitrogen oxide level exceeds a predefined nitrogen oxide threshold or identifying a malfunction if the detected nitrogen oxide level is below the predefined nitrogen oxide threshold.

The at least one component connection element has at least one securing contour that interacts with at least one joining element to secure the mechanical connection device and prevent an accidental release of the mechanical connection device, wherein the at least one joining element is connected to the filter housing after the functional component has been mounted at the filter housing.

Abstract: A filter monitor system (“FMS”) module is installed on the engine/vehicle and is connected to the filter systems, sensors and devices to monitor various performance parameters. The module also connects to the engine control module (“ECM”) and draws parameters from the ECM. The FMS module is capable of interfacing with various output devices such as a smartphone application, a display monitor, an OEM telematics system or a service technician's tool on a computer. The FMS module consists of hardware and software algorithms which constantly monitor filter systems and provide information to the end-user. FMS module provides necessary inputs and outputs for electronic sensors and devices.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for reducing friction in a radial drilling application. The method involves coating the interior of a deflector shoe with a lubricant. Lubrication of the deflector show can be accomplished by applying a wet lubricant to the interior of the deflector shoe or spraying a dry lubricant on the interior of the deflector shoe. The method can further include coating a hose and/or a jet nozzle, passing the hose and/or jet nozzle through the coated interior of the deflector shoe. The method can further include coating components of a milling cutter, and passing the components of the milling cutter through the coated interior of the deflector shoe. An apparatus for reducing friction in a radial drilling application is also disclosed.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine for a vehicle includes: an oil tank defining an oil reservoir; a pump to pump oil from the oil reservoir to lubricate parts of the engine; and a cyclonic separator disposed within the oil tank and configured to separate gas from oil received therein, the cyclonic separator defining an internal separator chamber for circulation of oil therein, the cyclonic separator comprising: a vortex forming portion configured to cause oil flowing therethrough within the internal separator chamber to define a spiral path in order to separate at least part of a gas content therefrom; an oil inlet for receiving oil into the internal separator chamber, the oil inlet being fluidly connected to the pump; an oil outlet for discharging oil from the internal separator chamber and into the oil reservoir of the oil tank; and a gas outlet for discharging gas from the internal separator chamber.
