Abstract: A construction machine in which an electrical unit can be reliably cooled at low cost by effectively utilizing an intake pipe connected to an intake port of an engine. This construction machine includes: an engine; and a hood covering the engine, wherein a space inside the hood has a placement space in which an electrical unit is placed and which communicates with outside air, and a distal-end opening of an intake pipe connected to an inlet port of the engine is disposed in the placement space to cause outside air sucked into the intake pipe due to a suction pressure occurred in the intake pipe to pass through the placement space to form a cooling air path in the placement space.

A compressor is positioned at the second side of the generator opposite from the engine. The compressor comprising a shaft extending toward the generator and configured to be driven by the clutch.

The oil system (7) is controllable between: a first state in which the control circuitry (5) controls the second gallery flow control device (25) to an open state, and controls an oil pressure in the second gallery (15) by controlling the pump arrangement (11); and a second state in which the control circuitry (5) controls an oil pressure in the first gallery (13) by controlling the pump arrangement (11), and controls the oil pressure in the second gallery (15) by controlling the second gallery flow control device (25).

Abstract: A pneumatic motor assembly that includes a pneumatic motor, which is driven by a compressed gas. The pneumatic motor assembly has a magnet assembly that magnetically couples the pneumatic motor assembly to an implement. After having being used to drive a pneumatic motor, the gas, which has expanded and become colder, cools the magnet assembly The pneumatic motor assembly can thus enable the use to the implement at temperatures at which the magnet assembly would otherwise reach or exceed the maximum operating temperature of the magnet assembly. A flow induction system that includes the pneumatic motor assembly. A method of operating a pneumatic motor assembly that also cools a magnet assembly that is part of the pneumatic motor assembly.

Abstract: An engine cooling system comprises an engine cooling circuit, comprising a first pump structured to circulate engine coolant fluid therethrough. A remote coolant radiator positioned along the engine cooling circuit downstream of the engine and outside of a vehicle cooling package area is structured to transfer heat from the engine coolant fluid to air. A coolant heat exchanger is positioned along the engine cooling circuit in parallel to the remote coolant radiator. A waste heat recovery system comprises a working fluid circuit comprising a second pump. The coolant heat exchanger is positioned along the working fluid circuit and is structured to transfer heat from the engine coolant fluid to the working fluid. An expander is structured to convert energy from the heat transferred to the working fluid from the engine cooling fluid to mechanical energy. A condenser positioned downstream of the expander is structured to cool the working fluid.

Abstract: An air guiding unit has a shroud having a vent hole, an air guiding duct, and a valve housed in the air guiding duct. A radiator, an engine cooling heat exchanger, and a blower are fixed to the shroud. The shroud guides an air flowing into an engine room from an engine room opening and passing through the radiator and the engine cooling heat exchanger. The air guiding duct has a first opening, which is connected to the vent hole of the shroud, and a second opening, which is open in the engine room toward a rear space defined on a rear side of the engine. The air guiding duct therein has a duct interior channel through which the air flows between the first opening and the second opening. The valve is configured to increase and decrease an opening degree of the duct interior channel.

Abstract: The temperature of exhaust gas discharged from a compact air-cooled engine used as a power source for an engine-driven working machine is reduced. An engine has a muffler mounted directly to the exhaust opening of the cylinder, and a resin muffler cover covering the muffler. An exhaust gas restriction member is provided to a wall surface of the muffler, and two exhaust passages serving as outlets for exhaust gas are formed in the exhaust gas restriction member. The exhaust passages are arranged independent of each other, and the streams of discharged exhaust gas are discharged to be slightly separated from each other as the streams flow away from the exhaust openings. The separated streams of discharged exhaust gas form a negative pressure space between the streams promoting the introduction of a cooling air stream into the negative pressure portion. Thus, the temperature of the exhaust gas can be reduced.
