    Abstract: Provided is an engine control device which can suppress a shortage of output terminals of the control unit and an increase of costs even in a multiple-cylinder internal combustion engine equipped with ignition energy supply units of two systems. An engine control device controls a multiple-cylinder engine in which ignition energy supply units of two systems are provided for every cylinder. A signal is transmitted through a common signal line to a plurality of ignition energy supply units of one system among the ignition energy supply units of the two systems to control the ignition energy supply units of the one system.

    Abstract: In an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine, a spark plug is incorporated which has an insulator including an insulator head that has no corrugation. The ignition coil has a coil body part generating high voltage and a joint part, which holds therein a conducting member electrically connecting the coil body part and a spark plug. The joint part has a plug cap into which the insulator head of the spark plug is inserted and which is formed of an elastic member having a cylindrical shape. The plug cap has a close-contact part whose inner peripheral surface is closely brought into contact with an outer peripheral surface of the insulator. The close-contact part has a tip end-side close-contact part positioned at a tip end side with respect to a middle position in an axial direction, and a base end-side close-contact part positioned at a base end side with respect to the middle position. At least part of the base end-side close-contact part is provided with a strong strained force part that has strained force for fastening the insulator head, the strained force being stronger than strained force of all portions of the tip end-side close-contact part.

    Abstract: There is described a clocking angle setting tool 24 for a wire harness comprising: a support arm 26 provided with a clamp 34 for attaching a harness cable of the wire harness to the support arm 26; a connector receptacle 32 for receiving a connector provided at the end of the harness cable and having a key or keyway for engaging with a complementary keyway or key of the connector, wherein the connector receptacle 32 is spaced from the clamp 34 and is rotatably mounted to the support arm 26; and a locking mechanism for locking an angular position of the connector receptacle relative to the support arm; wherein the angular position of the connector receptacle relative to the support arm determines a clocking angle of the connector relative to the harness cable. A method of setting a clocking angle of a wire harness is also described.

    Abstract: A gas turbine engine comprises an electronic control unit adapted to control functions of the gas turbine engine and having a DC power input unit coupled to receive DC supply power and an ignition igniter coupled thereto. The ignition exciter includes an AC power input unit adapted to receive AC power from an AC power source within the gas turbine engine, a power rectification unit coupled to receive the AC power from the AC power source and configured, upon receipt thereof, to rectify the AC power into DC power, and a DC power output unit coupled to receive the DC power from the power rectification unit and configured to supply the DC power to the DC power input unit of the electronic control unit as DC supply power and/or the ignition igniter.
