Abstract: A first filler resin is disposed to cover at least an outer peripheral side of a secondary spool and a secondary coil. The second filler resin is filled inside a case and seals a cover sealant which includes a primary coil, secondary spool, a secondary coil, a center core, an outer core and the first filler resin. The connector protrudes to an outside of the case. The case has a fixing portion. The second filler resin has a lower elasticity than the first filler resin. The ignition coil is manufactured by filling the first resin inside the case, and filling the second resin after the first resin is cured.

Abstract: A semiconductor apparatus can block the voltage from the power source when the voltage from the power source reaches an excessive level, without requiring a larger chip size. Provided is a semiconductor apparatus including a power semiconductor element a gate of which is controlled in response to a control signal, an overvoltage detector configured to detect that a voltage at a collector terminal of the power semiconductor element reaches an overvoltage level, and a block unit configured to, in response to the detection of the overvoltage level, control the gate of the power semiconductor element to transition to an off-voltage. The semiconductor apparatus may further include a reset unit configured to, in response to that the control signal is input that turns on the power semiconductor element, output a reset signal for a predetermined period of time.

Abstract: An engine with mesh anchored combustion with a pressure regulating auxiliary chamber for providing controlled internal combustion at essentially a constant pressure. The engine comprises a main cylinder and piston with an auxiliary chamber and piston integral therewith. The auxiliary chamber is adjacent to the main cylinder head, connected thereto through a relatively narrow throat. A mesh is positioned in the throat at the boundary of the main cylinder and the auxiliary chamber. Accordingly, when the main piston compresses a charge in the main cylinder during its compression stroke, the charge is pushed through the mesh into the auxiliary chamber. The auxiliary chamber piston pushes the charge in the reverse direction back through the mesh into the main cylinder. As the charge passes through the mesh back into the main chamber, its combustion forces the main piston back down toward bottom dead center.

Abstract: An ignition coil for an internal combustion engine is provided with a coil section that includes a primary coil and a secondary coil, and a connector case section. The primary coil is formed by winding a primary electric wire about the outer periphery of a primary spool made of a resin. The connector case section is provided with terminals each formed of a conductor and arranged from a fitting hole of the connector case section to a connector portion. In each terminal, an insertion portion arranged in the fitting hole is formed with an insertion slit in a fitting direction in which the coil section is fitted to the connector case section. Each winding end portion is drawn out substantially along a winding direction of the primary electric wire and inserted into the insertion slit in the fitting direction.

Abstract: A method of applying a coating to a spark plug insulator comprises the steps of forming a slurry solution and applying the slurry solution as a first coating to an insulative sleeve configured for use in a spark plug. The method further includes the step of heat treating the insulative sleeve to a temperature of between about 500 degrees Celsius and about 1000 degrees Celsius for between about 10 minutes and about 2 hour(s). Still further, the method includes the step of applying a second coating overlying at least a portion of the first coating, wherein the second coating comprises an organic binder.
