The device includes a plate group engaged with two connecting members and including two groups of friction plates housed in a plate housing chamber and alternately arranged in an axial direction with surfaces facing each other. The plate group is switched between an engaged state in which the friction plates are in close contact with each other, and a disengaged state in which the friction plates are separable from each other. End plates at respective ends of the plate group are kept at a larger distance in the axial direction after a switch to the disengaged state than in the engaged state.

The second shaft carries an axially shiftable second clutch disc, a first ramp, of which at least one section describes a helical line that is coaxial to the shafts, and a first actuating body. The first actuating body is clamped between the first ramp and the second clutch disc and can be moved about a common axis of the shafts between an open position, in which the clutch discs are spaced from one another, and a closing position, in which the clutch discs contact one another in a frictionally joined manner.

    摘要: A clutch assembly for an agricultural work vehicle having a piston slidably disposed within a chamber having a first portion and a second portion. The piston is positionable between a first position and a second position in response to a fluid pressure within the first portion of the chamber to actuate a clutch mechanism. A sealing ring is associated with the piston to substantially prevent flow of fluid between the first portion and the second portion when the piston is in the first position. A bleed assembly is configured to permit flow of fluid between the first portion and the second portion when the piston is in the first position. The bleed assembly allows sufficient flow to substantially prevent unintentional engagement of the clutch mechanism.

    摘要: A self energizing clutch includes a shaft (26), a clutch disc (14) on the shaft, engaging elements (30, 32) for disengaging and engaging the disc from and with structure adjacent the disc, and an actuator (34) for moving the engaging elements between its disengaged and engaged positions. The engaging elements include a wedge member (30) one face of which rests on a first face of the disc with its wedging angle diminishing in the direction of rotation of the disc, and a ramp formation which is fixed to the structure and on which a second face of the wedge member, is movable in the direction of rotation of the disc to its engaged position with the engaging force applied by the wedge to the disc, during rotation of the disc, being substantially greater than the locking force created by the actuator with the disc stationary relatively to the structure.

    摘要: A centrifugal clutch cover assembly for use in a clutch as a reaction surface in selective actuation of a pressure ring to clamp one or more discs mounted on a drive shaft for conjoint rotation therewith between the pressure ring and a flywheel of an engine thereby to selectively interconnect the drive shaft and the engine flywheel. The cover assembly includes a flat cover plate having a center and a central opening therein for receiving the drive shaft therethrough free of connection to the cover plate. Lever assemblies include levers pivotally mounted on the clutch plate at angularly spaced apart locations, and pressure members constructed and arranged for applying a force to the pressure ring for clamping the disc between the pressure ring and flywheel. The levers are disposed such that the pressure members apply more clamping force to the pressure ring the faster the flywheel and cover plate are rotating. The cover assembly is connected to the flywheel at locations that are angularly spaced from the locations of the lever assemblies.

    摘要: A combined mechanical and centrifugal clutch for a motor driven vehicle which has several original equipment manufacturer's components including an inside and an outside pressure plate (70), also frictional material for transmitting torque through the clutch. A lock-up housing (84) is attached to the outside pressure plate and contains a number of pivotally connected camming fingers (100) that force the outside pressure plate into tensional contact wit the frictional material by the camming force of the fingers caused by rotational centrifugal force. The operational portion of the mechanical clutch is unaltered permitting mechanical release of the clutch with the centrifugal portion added to lock-in the torque transmitting capabilities permitting increased capacity and positive engagement. Selecting the optimum rotational engagement speed is achieved by the use of weights and altering the springs or changing spring compressibility.
