Abstract: A power transmission system of a vehicle may include: a first input shaft selectively connectable to an engine output through a first clutch; a second input shaft selectively connectable to the engine output through a second clutch; a first intermediate shaft; a second intermediate shaft; an output shaft disposed in parallel with and apart from the first intermediate shaft and transmitting power from the first intermediate shaft and the second intermediate shaft to a final reduction gear of a differential apparatus; a motor/generator fixedly connected to any one of the first input shaft and the first intermediate shaft; a continuously variable shifting device operably connecting the first input shaft to the first intermediate shaft; and a plurality of shifting gear sets operably connecting the second input shaft, the first and the second intermediate shaft and the output shaft with each other.

Abstract: A hybrid module is provided for the drivetrain of a motor vehicle, which drivetrain has an electric machine, an internal combustion engine and a transmission. The hybrid module has (i) a first unit with a rotor element and a separating clutch which is arranged within the rotor element, (ii) a second unit with a clutch device comprising at least one clutch, and (iii) a third unit with a housing part. The first unit and the second unit are connected to each other to form a preassembled overall unit, and said overall unit is installed projecting into the third unit and is connected here to the third unit. A hybrid module constructed in such a manner can be produced by means of particularly simple assembly and is very compact. A method for assembly of said hybrid module is also provided.

Abstract: A power-transmitting device (10) and a method of assembling a power-transmitting device (10) secures and releases driving continuity between driving and driven parts (22, 62) through at least one clutch assembly (26, 66). The power-transmitting device (10) includes an apply plate (36) axially moveable with respect to the clutch assembly (26, 66) for engaging and disengaging the clutch assembly (26, 66). A return spring (34) acting on the apply plate (36) and an apply spring (32) having a higher compression force than the return spring (34) can be located between the apply plate (36) and the clutch assembly (26, 66). A ball (38) can be engageable with a portion of the apply plate (36) for locking the apply plate (36) in engagement with the clutch assembly (26, 66) during a steady state condition and a piston (40) can drive the ball (38) into engagement with the apply plate (36) in response to application of fluid under pressure.

Abstract: A dry-plate clutch (single or dual) of inverted construction for a vehicle transmission includes a clutch structure with a connecting device arranged to be connected to a prime mover; a pressure plate rotationally fixed and axially displaceable relative to the clutch structure, and a driven disc connected to a driven shaft and located between the clutch structure and the pressure plate. An actuator is arranged to displace the pressure plate between an engaged state, where the driven disc is clamped between the clutch structure and the pressure plate, and a disengaged state, where the disc is rotatable relative to the clutch structure. The connecting device has hollow sections at a number of angular locations extending into a radial surface facing the pressure plate. The pressure plate has corresponding axially extending protrusions in a radial surface facing the connecting device; and the protrusions at least partially extend axially into the hollow sections in the disengaged state.

Abstract: A multi-plate dual clutch for coupling a motor vehicle engine to a drive shaft of a motor vehicle transmission and to an auxiliary power take-off output shaft of the motor vehicle. The dual clutch includes a drive clutch for coupling the motor vehicle engine with the drive shaft, and an auxiliary power take-off clutch for coupling the motor vehicle engine with the auxiliary output shaft. The drive clutch and the auxiliary power take-off clutch can each to be operated independently of one another by a separate lever mechanism. The dual clutch includes a wet chamber housing in which the drive clutch and the auxiliary power take-off clutch are accommodated in fluid-tight relationship, while the respective lever mechanisms for the drive clutch and the auxiliary power take-off clutch are located outside the wet chamber housing.
