    摘要: A quality control system implemented by a service provider for a user via the utilization of sophisticated software algorithms in creating a library of profiles based on product specification. These libraries of profiles are compared with profiles of manufactured products to ensure that manufactured products are within the specification. While the measurement of the manufactured products can be taken in real time, the generation of the profile library is very computationally intensive and requires the use of a highly parallel set of computer workstations for its operation. The system allows for the separation of the computational intensive process from the real-time measurement reading, and creates an opportunity for a service provider to generate and maintain the libraries offsite.

    摘要: An aerosol detector, particularly well suited for liquid chromatography applications, includes a corona discharge source controlled to selectively charge the non-volatile residue particles of an aerosol. The aerosol initially is composed of droplets of a liquid sample, with the residue particles resulting from droplet evaporation. The selectively charged residue particles, each carrying a charge in proportion to its size, are collected at a conductive filter. The electrical current along a conductor coupled to the filter is measured repeatedly or continuously to provide an indication of concentrations of the non-volatile material. Preferably, a pneumatic nebulizer is used to generate the aerosol. When used in a liquid chromatography system, the detector can yield several separated areas of relatively high electrical current, corresponding to concentrations of several different analytes in the liquid sample.

Multiple sectors in a device are selected and a time necessary to program all cells in the sectors is monitored and if the monitored time exceeds a first time, the device fails. A time necessary to erase all the cells without any overerased cells is monitored and if the time exceeds a second time, the device fails. A time necessary to correct overerased cells is monitored and if the time exceeds a third time, the device fails. The total time from erase until overerase correction is achieved is monitored and if the total time exceeds a fourth time, the device fails. The total time to determine erasability is monitored and if this time exceeds a fifth time, the device fails.

    摘要: Fluorescent compounds of the formula: wherein R1 and R2 are either both SO3M, or one of R1 and R2 is SO3M and the other is COOM, where M is selected from the group consisting of H, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Li or ammonium, are described and claimed. These inert flurorescent compounds have been found to be resistant to oxidizing biocides. One process for making these compounds is described and claimed as the condensation between a 1,8-naphthalic anhydride possessing the desired functionalities and the appropriately substituted o-phenylene diamine. Alternatively, o-amino-nitro-aromatics may be condensed with the various 1,8-naphthalic anhydrides when the in situ reduction of the nitro group is accomplished with a suitable reducing agent such as iron powder. The resulting fluorescent compounds can be used as inert fluorescent tracers in industrial water systems.

A voltage is applied to first test keys and second test keys to build curves showing relationship between failure distribution and charge density, wherein each of the first test keys has a first oxide area and each of the second test keys has a second oxide area. A yield of the first test keys and a yield of the second test keys up to a charge density can be obtained. The yields of the first test keys and the second test keys have a relationship as an equation of area. To obtain a yield of small test keys, a yield and area of large test keys are imported into an equation. According to operating the equation, the yield of a small gate oxide is obtained.

    摘要: In order to correct the characteristic of a linear lambda probe which is arranged in an emission control system of an internal combustion engine upstream of a catalytic converter, in an overrun fuel cut-off phase the throttle valve and/or at least one gas exchange valve of the internal combustion engine is opened, and the signal of the lambda probe is assigned to the lambda value corresponding to the oxygen concentration of the ambient air. It is then possible, together with a conventional trimming controller which corrects the assignment of the signal to lambda=1, to correct the gradient of the characteristic.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a new and improved apparatus and methods for calibrating environmental air monitor. A new calibration kit comprising a gas cylinder containing calibration gas, a preset regulator valve, a flow matching valve and tubing is disclosed which overcomes many of the prior art disadvantages. The flow matching valve compensates for deviation in calibration gas flow conditions and thus eliminating the need of a sampling bag. The flow matching valve modifies the preset regulator valve by compensating loss of pressure or flow going to the sensor in the environmental air or gas monitor. In addition when an abundance of pressure or flow is transmitted to the monitor, the flow matching valve “vents-off” the excess calibration gas. A method for calibrating a gas or air monitor is also disclosed. The method and apparatus permits a laminar flow, over a sensor located in the air monitor, of constant quantity and quality that is critically necessary for calibrating air monitors.

    摘要: An apparatus rotates a sample to facilitate an accurate analysis of the sample. The apparatus includes a sample stage on which a plurality of samples are supported, a rotatable cap and a linearly movable plate for placing a selected one of the samples at an analysis position, and a rotating stage that supports the sample stage, rotatable cap and movable plate. The rotating stage is rotatable about an axis of rotation that intersects the analysis position. Once the selected sample is placed at the analysis position by the rotation of the cap and the linear movement of the plate, the selected sample is rotated by the rotating stage. The analysis process can be selectively or sequentially carried out with respect to the plurality of samples with a high degree of efficiency and without the associated drive mechanisms experiencing high loads.
