    摘要: In order to obtain light of a high luminance in a gas discharge tube of the present invention, a discharge path is narrowed by a first opening 18 and a second opening 13 in collaboration. Further, in order to provide favorable startability in a lamp even when the discharge path is narrowed, a predetermined voltage is applied from the outside to first and second discharge path limiting portions 16, 12. As a result, an active starting discharge which is capable of passing through the first and second openings is produced between a cathode portion 20 and the first and second discharge path limiting portions 16, 12, and thus discharge between the cathode portion 20 and an anode portion 8 is started speedily. Further, the anode portion, cathode portion, first discharge path limiting portion, and second discharge path limiting portion are housed within a light-emitting portion assembly 6 and electrically connected by first through fourth stem pins 9A to 9D, and the stem pins are utilized effectively to support the light-emitting portion assembly.

    摘要: In a gas discharge tube, a first discharge path-induction portion is arranged between a first discharge path-limit portion and a second discharge path-limit portion. A voltage is applied to the first discharge path-induction portion from the outside. As a result, an active starting discharge capable of passing through a first opening of the first discharge path-limit portion is produced between a cathode portion and the first discharge path-induction portion. As a consequence, there is facilitated the discharge at a starting time to pass through a second opening. As a consequence, there is achieved a rapid starting of discharge between the cathode portion and an anode portion. Therefore, in order to achieve further enhancement of brightness, there can be carried out with ease a further miniaturization pertaining to the openings, in terms of its area size, of the discharge path-limit portion while the starting properties being kept excellent, without any increase in a voltage at the starting time of the lamp so much.

    摘要: The present invention is to provide a gas discharge tube which is properly lighted to improve the reproducibility of a satisfactory light emission state. The gas discharge tube includes an envelop for accommodating a hot cathode for emitting thermoelectrons, an anode for receiving the thermoelectrons, a focusing electrode having a focusing opening for converging paths of the thermoelectrons, and a discharge shielding member supporting the focusing electrode and the anode, the discharge shielding member further supporting a cathode box for surrounding the hot cathode while being electrically insulated from the focusing electrode. Since a lighting device for the gas discharge tube sets the focusing electrode to a zero or negative potential while an electric field is generated between the hot cathode and the anode, the lighting device will be certainly turned on.

    摘要: A gas discharge tube of the present invention has an envelope for accommodating an anode for receiving thermoelectrons emitted from a thermionic cathode, a focusing electrode for focusing a path of the thermoelectrons from the thermionic cathode to the anode, and a discharge shielding plate consisting of a material having electrical insulating properties, the anode being arranged in contact with one side of the discharge plate, and the focusing electrode being arranged in contact with the other side of the discharge shielding plate. Since the anode and the focusing electrode are arranged in contact with both the sides of the discharge shielding plate consisting of an insulating material such as a ceramic, the positions of these electrodes are held at high accuracy, and the electrical insulating properties therebetween are maintained even at a high temperature during long-time continuous light emission. For this reason, a short circuit between the electrodes and variations in length of a discharge path can be prevented. Therefore, a gas discharge tube having a long service life and a high operational stability during long-time continuous light emission can be provided.

Since the insulating tube projects further than the anode tube toward the sample side, a shortcircuit is never formed between the anode and the cathode even if sample vapor adheres to the walls surrounding the exhaust passage. As a result, efficient analysis can be achieved with the glow discharge tube of the present invention.

    摘要: An indicator display tube in which indicator electrode units, each consisting of anode and cathode segments, lie in the same plane and in which all of the cathode segments are simultaneously energized and the anode electrodes are energized on a time sequential basis in such a manner that only the indicator electrode unit having its anode electrodes energized will glow at a particular time. The cathode segments of each indicator unit are connected in parallel which substantially reduces the number of leads to the display tube over conventional indicators which require a separate lead for energizing each of the cathode segments. The indicator display tube has means for preventing accidental discharge of adjacent indicator electrode units which would produce erroneous message displays.
