摘要: Disclosed herein are methods of forming (co)polymers from polymerizable compositions, the methods comprising irradiating the polymerizable compositions with light, wherein the polymerizable compositions comprise a polymerization initiator having an absorption band and exhibiting triplet-triplet annihilation up-conversion and a monomer. Also disclosed herein are methods of additive manufacturing using the methods of forming (co)polymers described herein.

摘要: The invention is generally related to a process for producing a relatively high molecular weight poly(methacrylic acid) (“PMAA”) in a water-based system. The process of the invention comprises polymerization of from about 1% to about 20% by weight of methacrylic acid in water or a water-based system in the presence of thiol compound and an azo radical initiator under controlled reaction and process conditions. A process of the invention can be easily scaled up into the pilot scale for producing large quantities of high molecular weight PMAAs. The invention is also related to high molecular weight poly(methacrylic acid)s obtained according to a process of the invention.

摘要: An object is to provide an ink composition for inkjet printing that permits inkjet printing, particularly on metal surfaces, wherein such ink composition possesses sufficiently high adhesion and heat resistance with respect to metal surfaces. As a means for achieving the object, a photocurable inkjet printing ink composition is provided, which contains, relative to the entire ink composition, 0.1 percent by mass or more of an acid-modified acrylic monomer and 10 to 30 percent by mass of a monofunctional monomer with a Tg of 100° C. or above, wherein the monofunctional monomer accounts for 80 percent by mass or more of all monomers.

摘要: The present invention addresses the problem of providing a block copolymer which is useful as a surface treatment agent for cell culture substrates, said surface treatment agent enabling cell separation in a short period of time. The above-mentioned problem is solved by a block copolymer that includes the following blocks (A), (B) and (C): (A) a temperature-responsive polymer block that has a lower critical solution temperature (LCST) within the range of from 0° C. to 50° C. with respect to water (B) a hydrophilic polymer block that does not have an LCST within the range of from 0° C. to 50° C., while having an HLB value within the range of from 9 (inclusive) to 20 (exclusive) (C) a hydrophobic polymer block that does not have an LCST within the range of from 0° C. to 50° C., while having an HLB value within the range of from 0 (inclusive) to 9 (exclusive).

摘要: The present invention provides a SMC of which excessive thickening with time is suppressed while of which sufficient initial thickening by an isocyanate-based thickener is maintained, particularly of which a decrease in flowability at the time of molding to be easily actualized in the case of containing an aromatic vinyl compound such as styrene is suppressed, and which exhibits excellent storage stability and moldability, a molding material for obtaining the SMC, and a fiber-reinforced composite material using the SMC. The invention provides a molding material including: a matrix resin composition containing the following Component (A), the following Component (B), the following Component (D) and the following Component (E); and the following Component (C), in which a proportion of the Component (E) with respect to 100 parts by mass of a sum of the Component (A) and the Component (B) is 0.002 part by mass or more and 0.08 part by mass or less: Component (A): a compound having either or both of a hydroxyl group and a carboxyl group and a polymerizable unsaturated group, Component (B): an aromatic vinyl compound, Component (C): a reinforcing fiber bundle having a fiber length of 5 mm or more and 120 mm or less, Component (D): an isocyanate compound, and Component (E): a metal chelate compound.

摘要: Water-based coating compositions or paint having improved gloss retention, including a latex or water-dispersible polymer, a UV-VIS absorber comprising a substituted benzophenone capable of being a free radical generator, a hindered amine light stabilizer, and optionally a low-VOC coalescent provided in a preferably desired amount. A composition comprising a blend a UV-VIS absorber comprising a substituted benzophenone capable of being a free radical generator, a hindered amine light stabilizer, and a low-VOC coalescent, providing a thermally-stable coalescent that can be used in a paint formulation for gloss retention. Gloss retention of paints containing the UV-VIS absorber and hindered amine light stabilizer being markedly improved over paints that do not have both components present.
