    摘要: A multiple disc clutch includes a pressing member movable in an axial direction and which turns together with an output shaft to compress driving friction plates and driven friction plates, a clutch spring that axially presses the pressing member, a clutch lifter arranged coaxially with the pressing member and a lifter plate that is held by the periphery of the clutch lifter via a clutch bearing. The lifter plate moves the pressing member in a reverse direction to a direction pressed by the clutch spring according to the axial movement of the clutch lifter. This multiple disc clutch does not require a dedicated clutch lifter for every clutch bearing different in size and therefore the cost is reduced.

    摘要: A pull-type friction clutch having an annular part that is axially clamped to a disk spring and is axially fixedly connectable to an actuation sleeve of an actuation system. The annular part has axially raised lugs on its face bearing against the disk spring, and the lugs engage in slots that are provided between the disk spring tongues where the tongues are appropriately widened, to provide a form locking connection in the peripheral direction. As a result of the peripherally fixed attachment of the annular part to the disk spring, wear caused by a relative twist between the annular part and the disk spring is prevented.

    摘要: A rotational resistance apparatus and method of use is disclosed to control movement of a carriage across a surface. The apparatus includes a disc having an axial rotational axis, an axial first end portion, and second end face portion that is substantially perpendicular to the axial rotational axis. The first end portion rotationally engages a rotating element of the carriage. Also included, is a cover having an axial longitudinal axis, an axial outer end portion that removably engages a frame of the carriage, and an axial inner face portion positioned substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The longitudinal and axial rotational axes are approximately co-axial and the inner face portion and the second end face portion are in a selected rotational frictional contact. Further included, is a first structure for selectable axial urging of the cover toward the disc, being operational to further selectably alter the selected rotational frictional contact.

    摘要: An apparatus for driving and braking a cutting blade of a lawn mower is disclosed. The apparatus includes a shaft for rotating the blade, and a pulley driven by the engine. The shaft extends through a housing. The apparatus includes means for biasing the pulley toward the housing, and means for translating the pulley away from the housing. The apparatus has a stopped position in which the pulley and housing are in friction contact, and has a cutting position in which the pulley and housing are not in friction contact. When power is delivered from the engine to drive the pulley, the apparatus moves from the stopped position to the cutting position such that the pulley and the housing are not in friction contact and the blade rotates. When power ceases being delivered to the pulley, the apparatus moves from the cutting position to the stopped position such that the pulley and the housing are placed in friction contact and the blade stops.

    摘要: A clutch device comprises an input part 3 to which power from a crankshaft 2 is inputted, an output part disposed concentrically with the input part 3 and connectable to an input shaft of a transmission, a clutch body 5, a pressure plate 40, and a main cone spring 41. The clutch body 5 has friction discs 20 and 21 connected to the input part 3 and a driven plate 31 connected to the output part 4. The pressure plate 40 presses the friction discs 20 and 21 and the driven plate 31 against each other. The main cone spring 41 urges the pressure plate 40 so that the friction discs 20 and 21 and the driven plate 31 are pressed against each other. Further, the friction disc 21 is provided with serrations or teeth 21a on an inner radial surface thereof. The input part 3 is provided with retractable gear teeth 23 which engage the teeth 21a to allow for rotation of the friction disk 21 with the input part 3 in one rotational direction but not in the other rotational direction.

The coupling includes plural, coaxial, sleeve-rubber-sleeve elements distributed in annularly arranged apertures of the disk and having their inner sleeves bolted to the clutch member. Specific examples of such assemblies are explained with reference to a double cone friction clutch and a twin friction disk clutch, having two movable clutch members as well as two such disks. The resilient elements are always biased tending to disengage the clutch.
