Abstract: Disclosed is a lost motion coupling for connecting a propulsion device with a load to be moved. The coupling permits the propulsion device to generate significant momentum before applying driving force to the load. In the embodiment described, a traveling nut is driven in translational motion along a rotatable screw. The traveling nut is included within the lost motion coupling between the screw and a slide gate. Significant rotational momentum may be obtained by the screw before the lost motion coupling applies driving force to the slide gate. The slide gate then experiences an abrupt application of a substantial driving force to overcome forces retarding motion of the slide gate.

Abstract: A door drive device for adjusting and/or locking a vehicle door relative to a vehicle body including an adjustment member, a drive element operatively coupled to the adjustment member such that the adjustment member is movable with respect to the drive element for moving the vehicle door, a sensor device for measuring a measuring quantity indicative of a movement of the vehicle door to provide a sensor signal, a brake device operatively connected to the drive element for braking a movement of the vehicle door, and a control device for controlling operation of the door drive device. The control device is configured to compute, from the sensor signal obtained from the sensor device, an acceleration value indicative of an acceleration of the vehicle door and evaluate the acceleration value to distinguish movement of the vehicle door caused by a gravity force from movement caused by a user action.

The lever includes a lock to engage a portion of the hinge gooseneck to prevent rotational movement of the door relative to the frame when the door is in the open position. A biasing element is to urge the lever in the first rotational direction.

Abstract: A sectional door hinge system is provided which is engageable between upper and lower portions of a sectional door configured for rolling in a track abutting a door jamb. Each hinge is actuatable to move from an engaged position preventing separation of the hinge to a configuration allowing separation between two sections forming the hinge. Separation of the hinge sections allows movement of the upper portion of the sectional door, independently of the lower section. The door hinge system may be retrofit to existing sectional garage doors and provided with newly manufacture garage doors.
