Abstract:
A dental tool for removing a dental aligner secured to teeth may include a first contact point that is configured to contact a biting surface of the aligner; a second contact point that is configured to contact a gumline end of the aligner; and a third contact point that is configured to contact a lateral surface of the aligner. A method of using the dental tool to remove the dental aligner from teeth is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Disclosed are advances in the arts with novel methods and apparatus for detecting faulty connections in an electrical system. Exemplary preferred embodiments include monitoring techniques and systems for monitoring signals at one or more device loads and analyzing the monitored signals for determining fault conditions at the device loads and/or at the main transmission lines. The invention preferably provides the capability to test and monitor electrical interconnections without fully activating the host system.
Abstract:
Disclosed are advances in the arts with novel and useful voltage transient protection circuitry in configurations which include a bridge circuit in combination with one or more voltage reference, load to ground circuit, and/or snub circuit such that the output node is held at a selected voltage level, preferably mid-rail, and potentially damaging transient voltages are avoided.
Abstract:
Systems for harvesting energy from a variable output energy harvesting apparatus are disclosed. The systems include an energy harvesting apparatus for providing energy input to a switched mode power supply and a control loop for dynamically adjusting energy harvesting apparatus input to the switched mode power supply, whereby system output power is substantially optimized to the practical. Exemplary embodiments include systems for harvesting energy using solar cells in boost, buck, and buck-boost configurations.
Abstract:
The present invention provides methods for treating or preventing asthma and associated conditions in a patient. The methods of the present invention comprise administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutic composition comprising an interleukin-4 receptor (IL-4R) antagonist, such as an anti-IL-4R antibody.
Abstract:
A remote energy transfer system is provided that is capable of wirelessly transmitting data and power through barriers. Generally, the remote energy transfer system comprises at least one power antenna, at least one data antenna, and at least one link controller operatively coupled to the power antenna and the data antenna. The link controller can be configured to at least partially control the energy transfer from the power antenna and the data transfer of the data antenna.
Abstract:
A slide kit creation system and method allows reviewers of a slide kit to insert non-textual comments, such as audio comments, to be associated with selected slides. In one embodiment, audio comments are transmitted to a host computer by telephone, and may be posted on the host computer for access by other reviewers. The audio comments may also be transcribed in text form. In another embodiment, comments may be associated with various portions of a video, in the same manner. A video navigation bar is coded to indicate which portions of the video are associated with comments. Alternatively, certain attributes of the video can be altered to indicate the presence of comments associated with specific scenes of the video.
Abstract:
Rechargeable energy storage apparatus is disclosed in which the form factors of batteries and power packs are emulated by apparatus of the invention. Preferred embodiments of the invention provide energy storage capabilities equal or superior to those of conventional batteries or power packs. The rechargeable energy storage apparatus also provides wireless charging capabilities and data functionality.
Abstract:
Contentual metadata of an extended cache is stored within the extended cache. The contentual metadata of the extended cache is approximated utilizing a counting Bloom filter. The counting Bloom filter is stored within a primary cache. Contentual metadata of the primary cache is stored within the primary cache. One of a data read or a data write is executed without accessing the contentual metadata of the extended cache stored within the extended cache.
