Abstract:
Basic cleaning compositions using toxicologically-acceptable ingredients for cleaning hard surfaces are provided. Compositions safe for use on surfaces which are contacted by food intended for ingestion by humans or lower animals, even when the compositions are incompletely removed from the cleansed surface, are described. Liquid formulations comprising surfactant, such as sodium alkyl sulfate, sodium alkylbenzene sulfonate, etc., and having a pH of above 11.6 are contacted directly onto hard surfaces to remove soil and unwanted deposits. Articles for applying the compositions to hard surfaces by spraying are disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a glass cleaning composition comprising: from about 0.001% to about 3% of a blooming perfume composition comprising at least about 50% of blooming perfume ingredients selected from the group consisting of: ingredients having a boiling point of less than about 260° C. and a ClogP of at least about 3, and wherein said perfume composition comprises at least 5 different blooming perfume ingredients; from about 0.001% to about 2% of detergent surfactant system selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactants, amphoteric detergent surfactants including zwitterionic surfactants; and mixtures thereof; from about 0.5% to about 30% of hydrophobic solvent; and the balance being an aqueous solvent system comprising water and, optionally, non-aqueous polar solvent with only minimal cleaning action selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, ethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, glycol ethers having a hydrogen bonding parameter of greater than 7.7, and mixtures thereof and any minor ingredients. These compositions have good filming/streaking characteristics and provide a blooming perfume effect.
Abstract:
Compositions particularly suitable for the cleaning of carpets comprise: a peroxygen bleach; an alcohol having the formula R—OH wherein R is linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon chain of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and a second solvent selected from the group consisting of a hydrophilic solvent comprising one or more ether groups and having a solubility in water higher than 10 ml per 100 ml at 25° C.; a polyol hydrophilic solvent having a solubility in water higher than 10 ml per 100 ml at 25° C.; a hydrophobic solvent having a solubility in water lower than 10 ml per 100 ml at 25° C.; and mixtures thereof; at a weight ratio of said alcohol to said second solvent of 1:10 to 1:1.1. The compositions are particularly suitable for the cleaning of carpets, resulting in improved overall stain removal performance, especially on particulate stains, greasy/oily stains, bleachable stains, and/or enzymatic stains.
Abstract:
The present invention provides laundry concentrate compositions comprising a mixture of at least one non-ionic surfactant and at least one water insoluble, polar group--containing oil, wherein the concentrate is characterized by a viscosity in excess of about 10 cps, preferably in excess of 100 cps, and further characterized that, upon dilution with at least about one volume of water per volume of concentrate, the concentrate is converted at least partially into a liquid crystal phase dispersion, providing a diluted concentrate having a viscosity of at least about 50 cps.Preferred concentrates are fabric softeners in the form of a water-in-oil emulsion and also containing a cationic or non-ionic fabric softener.
Abstract:
A light duty liquid detergent with desirable cleansing properties and mildness to the human skin comprising: at least one sulfonate surfactant, an alkali metal or ammonium salt of a C.sub.8-18 ethoxylated alkyl ether sulfate anionic surfactant, a betaine surfactant, an alkyl polyglucoside surfactant, an ethoxylated alkyl C.sub.12 -C.sub.14 monoalkanol amide, optionally, C.sub.12 -C.sub.14 monoalkanol amide and water.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to synthetic bar compositions wherein relatively small amounts of specified hydrophobically modified polyalkylene glycol nonionic polymer has been found to enhance mildness of bar compositions without sacrificing processability and lather property.
Abstract:
A disinfection solution, primarily for use in conjunction with contact lenses is disclosed comprising an amount of a pharmaceutically acceptable ionic salt which is equivalent in ionic strength to at least 5% w/v sodium chloride, at least one of a C.sub.2-6 alkanol and a C.sub.3-8 alkylene glycol, a pharmaceutically acceptable surfactant, optionally a buffer, and water.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A cleaning composition for cleaning the surfaces of edible fresh fruits and vegetables. The composition comprises water and a preservative, and preferably also a co-solvent with a dielectric constant less than that of water, a surfactant, a flavorant, and a buffering agent to maintain the composition's pH within the range of 2 to 9. The invention further comprises a fibrous wiper impregnated with the cleaning composition for wiping the fresh produce, and a dispenser for storing the impregnated fibrous wiper.
