Abstract:
A system for use with a emergency exit door, comprising: a door opener including a stationary actuator with a movable distal arm for pushing the door open; a door strike mountable to a door frame having an opening to receive a latch of the emergency exit door, the electric door strike including a gate having a locked condition and a release condition; a controller connected to the door opener and the door strike; a remote activator having a triggered condition, which provides a signal to the controller when the remote activator is triggered, to unlock the gate and then the door opener, to open the emergency exit door.
Abstract:
A security device and method for a garage door opening system mounted within the dwelling, for preventing an unauthorized access to the garage door opening system from outside of the garage and mechanically disconnecting the carriage assembly of the system from the remaining part of the system by pulling the release cord toward the garage door.
Abstract:
A system for dynamic braking a vehicle closure including a drive mechanism mounted to the vehicle, the drive mechanism having contacts to receive a drive signal to cause the drive mechanism to move the vehicle closure between an open and a close position in response to the drive signal, the drive mechanism capable of generating a generated drive signal during at least a portion of the vehicle closure from the open to the close position; and a controller having electrical outputs electrically coupled to the electrical contacts of the drive mechanism and electrical inputs to provide the drive signals to the drive mechanism and to receive generated drive signals from the drive mechanism, the controller configured to provide the generated drive signals back to the drive mechanism during operation of the vehicle closure to provide dynamic braking of the vehicle closure from the open to the close position.
Abstract:
A mechanical arm system for opening a door includes an actuator assembly having an output shaft and an arm driven by the output shaft so as to move the door from a closed position toward an open position. The arm is free from contact with the door when the door moves from the open position to the closed position. The actuator assembly is mounted to a support member adjacent the door. The arm extends between the output shaft and the door. The arm may be moveable between a position in which the arm contacts the door in the open position and a retracted position in which the arm is free from contact with the door in the closed position. The arm may be moved to the retracted position before the door reaches the open position so as to abort the opening of the door.
Abstract:
An electrically driven entryway activation system for opening and closing two spaced swinging doors hung on spaced rotating parallel door posts comprises a base plate extending between the door posts. Levers attached to each door post rotate in a plane parallel to the base plate. A low profile actuation system spaced between the levers comprises a center post, a sector gear journaled on the center post for rotation parallel to the base plate, and a low profile gearmotor mounted between the base plate and the sector gear. A low profile emergency manual mechanism is provided for unclutching the output pinion gear of the gearmotor.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hinge apparatus for a door, and more particularly, to a separated type hinge apparatus with an automatic return function, in which a restoring device and a damping device are installed separately so that the overall length of the hinge apparatus is reduced, and thus the hinge apparatus may be buried less deeply. A separated type hinge apparatus comprises: an elastic casing; a first elastic member that provides a restoring force; a clutch device which is combined with one end of the first elastic member and controls the elastic force of the first elastic member to remain constant; a shaft penetratively combined through the clutch device in order to transmit a rotational force; and a spring fixing member which is coupled to the other end end of the first elastic member and has a gear groove to control a spring elastic force.
Abstract:
An overhead door bracket for attachment of the main arm of an overhead door opener to a metal overhead door for the purpose of opening and closing the door. The inventive bracket has a relatively wide mounting plate which spans the distance between the portions of the sheet metal doors having existing reinforcing backing strips for mounting of the hinges connecting the metal panels of the door. The inventive bracket has conventional connecting tabs spaced and extending outward to receive the lower end of the main arm of an opening system. The tabs have pin receiver bores for pivotally securing the main arm to the bracket by means of a pin. The bracket mounting plate has three spaced rows of mounting holes for mounting the bracket to the upper panel of a hinged door panel, the mounting holes being proximate the respective ends of the bracket.
Abstract:
A gate arm for a swing gate incorporates a release mechanism that releases the gate arm and therefore allows the gate to swing freely about its hinges when inwardly-directed pressure applied to the gate exceeds a threshold level. The gate arm also includes a spring-loaded pivot joint that applies pressure to the gate when the gate is operating normally and is in the closed position, and further works cooperatively with the release mechanism to prevent damage to the operator and gate arm when the gate is forced open.
Abstract:
A novel electrical floor-hinge device is provided, which contains an electrical motor and a speed reducing element configured on top of a platform element at a side on top of a body member. A vertical input shaft connected to the speed reducing element is joined to a lateral involute shaft via bevel gears. The involute shaft in turn engages a driven gear on a vertical output shaft. The top end of the output shaft is attached to a seat element whose top surface is fixedly joined to a lower inner corner of a door. By the electrical motor's driving the seat element into clockwise or counterclockwise swing, the door is closed or opened automatically. The speed reducing element can be easily replaced to fit doors of different weight.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an emergency release for a garage door drive with a sliding latch, wherein the sliding latch is linearly movable by turning a rotary knob.
