Abstract:
A method for enhancing security printing of a layout template is disclosed. The method includes receiving the layout template, and acknowledging one or more constraints for the layout template. At least one unconstrained layout element of the layout template is varied, thereby generating a varied layout template. The varied layout template is printed and scanned. The method further includes determining a number of bits that can be encoded in the varied layout template, where the number of bits depends on the varying of the at least one unconstrained layout element.
Abstract:
A handy, low cost, tamper-evident evidence recording device is disclosed. A method and system for utilizing evidence recording devices in improving various business processes such as insurance claims processing, car and equipment rentals, and property leases disputes, is disclosed.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a document managing system includes a user authentication unit configured to acquire user information of a user, a read unit configured to read a manuscript and read manuscript trace information given to the manuscript, a determination unit configured to determine, in case of copying the manuscript, whether the user is authorized to copy the manuscript based on the user information read in the user authentication unit and the manuscript trace information, and an image output unit configured to, if the determination unit determines that the user is authorized to copy, output an image including new trace information readable in a read unit along with the manuscript read in the read unit.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to controlling rendering of video to particular audiences, e.g., children. For example, one claim recites a method including: obtaining video or image data, the video or image data comprising information steganographically hidden in data representing perceptual portions of the video or image data; analyzing the video or image data to obtain the hidden information, the information comprising data associated with suitability for viewing of the video or image data for a particular demographic; comparing the data to predetermined information; and based at least on said act of comparing, determining whether to render the video or image data for display. Of course, other claims are provided too.
Abstract:
An imaging apparatus includes an image data generating unit, a verification data generating unit, a first slot, a second slot, a first interface and a second interface. The image data generating unit generates image data. The verification data generating unit generates first verification data used to detect whether the image data is changed. A recording medium is inserted to the first slot.An image verification apparatus is inserted to the second slot. The first interface unit stores a first image file in the recording medium, the first image file including the image data and the first verification data. The second interface unit that transfers the first image file to the image verification apparatus. The image verification apparatus is capable of detecting, using the image data and the first verification data, whether the image data is changed.
Abstract:
An automated monitoring service downloads image files (including, e.g, graphic and video files) and audio files from various Internet sites, and checks these files for the presence of embedded digital watermark data. When found, such data is decoded and used to identify the proprietor of each watermarked file. The proprietors are alerted to the results of the monitoring operation, often apprising such proprietors of unknown distribution of their image/video/audio properties. Digital watermarks carry control flags used to control viewing or playback depending on content classification.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus inputs image data including a first pixel group, a second pixel group generated by interpolating the first pixel group and verification data of the first pixel group, verifies whether the first pixel group has been altered using the first pixel group and the verification data, verifies whether the second pixel group has been altered by determining whether the second pixel group and the first pixel group are in a predetermined relationship, and determines whether the image data has been altered based on results of the verification as to whether the first pixel group has been altered and the verification as to whether the second pixel group has been altered.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a document image generating section, a medium ID generating section, a correspondence information storing section and an image output section. A document image generating section generates a document image based on a managed data in the apparatus. A medium ID generating section generates a medium ID for identifying a medium on which the document image is printed. A correspondence information storing section stores correspondence information by which the managed data and the medium ID are correlated with each other. An image output section outputs an image in which a code image indicating the medium ID is superimposed on the document image.
Abstract:
Information available at a decoder is embedded into image content after decoding by first representing that information by at least one film grain pattern and then blending that at least one film grain pattern with the decoded image content. Such image content is typically in the form of a movie and examples of the information to be embedded include identification of the specific decoding device, the user of the decoding device, the time and date of decoding, the model number of the device, the versions of software running on the device, the status of the device or connections to the device, the contents of device registers or memory locations within the device, among many other possible data. When an unauthorized copy of image content is discovered, the copied image content undergoes a comparison to the decoded image content to generate difference data. Thereafter, the difference data undergoes comparison with a database of film grain patterns to recover the embedded data.
Abstract:
The image forming apparatus includes: a random number information generation part that generates random number information; a first encryption part that encrypts the random number information generated by the random number information generation part with using a first encryption key; a second encryption key generation part that newly generates a second encryption key from the random number information generated by the random number information generation part; a second encryption part that encrypts specific information for identifying the apparatus with using the second encryption key generated by the second encryption key generation part; a code data creation part that creates code data based on encrypted random number information encrypted by the first encryption part and encrypted specific information encrypted by the second encryption part; and an image forming part that forms a code image based on the code data created by the code data creation part on a recording medium.
