Abstract:
A damping device for movable furniture parts, such as doors or drawers, includes a cylinder filled with a free-flowing medium which is compressed by a piston which has a spring applied to it in its extended position. In order to provide a damping device of this type of smaller length, the cylinder includes a telescopic cylinder having at least two stages. A pressure spring is clamped between the bottom of the outer cylinder of the last stage and the piston of the first stage.
Abstract:
An actuating system, comprising a base part and a moving part, which can be moved by a compressively preloaded piston/cylinder assembly that comprises a cylinder and a piston rod, wherein a piston on the piston rod divides the cylinder into two working chambers, wherein the base part has an externally powered drive device that stands in operative connection with the moving part and functions in opposition to the operating force of the piston/cylinder assembly, wherein a control system monitors the motion of the moving system and detects an obstacle when a parameter representing the motion deviates from a stored parameter by a threshold limit, wherein the actuating system in the unpowered state holds the moving part with the aid of a locking device, wherein the locking device is formed by a flow connection between the working chambers of the piston/cylinder assembly and a pilot valve for controllably blocking fluid flow through the flow connection.
Abstract:
In an opening-closing mechanism of a door member for shifting the door member from a closed position for closing an opening portion of a base member to an open position and vice versa, the door member includes a pair of arm portions. Each arm portion includes a circular arc shape gear and a rotary gear disposed in a center of the circular arc of the gear. The base member includes a first fixed gear portion with internal teeth engaging the circular arc shape gear portion, and a second fixed gear portion disposed inside the first fixed gear engaging the rotary gear. The arm portion is held to move vertically through engagements between the first fixed gear portion and the circular arc shape gear portion and between the rotary gear and the second fixed gear portion, so that the door member is shifted along a path corresponding to the first fixed gear portion.
Abstract:
A braking retardation apparatus for doors, windows or the like has a piston pressable into a cylinder against the force of an expelling spring, with the element to be braked acting on the piston rod of said piston. To provide such a braking retardation apparatus with a reduced effort, a grease with high viscosity is applied to the wall of the cylinder.
Abstract:
The provision of a rotational speed controller which is capable of increasing braking torque without a corresponding increase in size, and easily outputting braking torque assumed in the design, and minimizing variations in the braking torque. A casing 6 incorporates a shaft 7 inserted therein, a first rotor 8 rotated together with the shaft 7 in one piece, and a second rotor 10 rotated through the medium of the first rotor 8 and a planet gear 9. A first rotation mechanism for rotating the first rotor 8 is the shaft 7. A second rotation mechanism for rotating the second rotor 10 is a planetary gear mechanism operated in association with the rotation of the first rotor 8.
Abstract:
A dampened hinge and hinge system for appliances is provided. The system includes first and second hinge portions, at least one of which includes a dampener. The dampener can be a push-dampener, a pull-dampener or a push/pull-dampener. The hinge system allows for movement of the door between a closed position, a fully opened position and a secondary opened position such as a broil-stop position, and the door is self-supporting in the secondary opened position. The first and second hinge portions each include a guide channel, a claw pivotably connected to the guide channel and a link having a first end connected to the claw. The first hinge portion includes a spring having a first end connected to a second end of the link and a second end connected to the guide channel. The second hinge portion includes a dampener that is operably connected between the guide channel and the second end of the link. Both the first and second hinge portions can include a dampener.
Abstract:
The subject invention is a delay door closer that is to be used in conjunction with a dual door arrangement such as a screen door mounted in conjunction with an entry door of a house or other building. A catch mechanism is mounted on the door jamb with the catch mechanism functioning to lock and hold the screen door in an open position when the entry door is in the closed position. Upon opening of the entry door a sufficient amount to where the user is now able to enter the building, the catch mechanism is disengaged which will cause the screen door to be moved from its open position to a closed position.
Abstract:
A rotary damper has a cylindrical casing having a chamber filled with a viscous fluid, a rotor rotatably mounted in the cylindrical casing, a movable valve mounted in the cylindrical casing for adjusting a flow of the viscous fluid in the chamber, a flange mounted in the casing and having a pair of through holes defined therein and communicating with the chamber, and a torque adjustment disk angularly movably mounted in the casing and having an orifice held in communication with the through holes. The orifice has a cross-sectional area varying progressively from an end thereof toward an opposite end thereof, wherein a torque applied by the rotor can be adjusted by angularly moving the torque adjustment disk.
Abstract:
A compartment confining construction comprises an opening and a closure unit movably mounted on the compartment confining construction for movement between a closing position and a fully opened position with respect to the opening. A fluid-based positioning unit is connected to both the compartment confining construction and the closure unit, the fluid-based positioning unit having two working chambers interconnected by at least one flow path, a movement of the closure unit corresponding to a flow of fluid from one chamber to another through the at least one flow path. A fluid flow control device is provided for controlling the flow of fluid through the at least one flow path and thereby controlling the movement of the closure unit. The fluid flow control device is actuatable by an electric actuating device. The flow of liquid occurs in response to movement of the closure unit when the closure unit is moved by an external force.
Abstract:
A rotation deceleration device used for a sanitary cleaning device which includes a toilet seat and a toilet cover and is attached to a toilet bowl, thereby injecting warm water in the toilet bowl. The rotation deceleration device includes a cylinder having a hydraulic chamber filled with a control oil; a rotation shaft inserted through the cylinder; a control wall radially projected from the rotation shaft to divide the hydraulic chamber into at least two sub chambers; a control valve provided between the control wall and an inner surface of the cylinder. The control valve has a closing wall opposed to a side surface of the control wall so as to be attachable thereto and also has an engaging member opposed to the other side of the control wall so as to be engageable therewith in accordance with the rotation of the rotation shaft. The control valve is formed of a material which has a higher coefficient of thermal expansion than that of a material forming the control wall and the cylinder.
