    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may initiate a beam management procedure, including reference signal transmission to a user equipment (UE) and receive beam training. A base station may configure a UE to monitor a set of beams for reference signals. Based on the received reference signals, the UE may optionally select one or more transmit beams for wakeup signal reception, and may transmit an indication of the selected beams to the base station. The base station may transmit a wakeup signal over the originally configured or the UE-selected transmit beams to initiate wake-up procedure at the UE. The base station and UE may subsequently perform a refined beam management procedure, providing a refined reference signal transmission from the base station. Based on the received transmission, the UE may select a refined beam for downlink transmissions.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for synchronization signal (SS) blocks in which synchronization signals and broadcast channel transmissions may be transmitted. Broadcast channel transmissions may be demodulated using SS transmissions, reference signal transmissions, or combinations thereof. Broadcast channel transmissions may be transmitted in a subset of SS block time resources, and synchronization signals may be transmitted in another subset of SS block time resources. Reference signals may be transmitted using tones within the broadcast channel time resources, and may be transmitted at a higher density for portions of the broadcast channel transmission bandwidth that are outside of the SS transmission bandwidth. Waveforms for reference signal transmissions, and information provided by reference signal transmissions may be provided.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may transmit a subframe that includes physical broadcast channel (PBCH) signals interspersed within beam reference signals, where the subframe may be a synchronization subframe including one or more synchronization signals. In some cases, the beam reference signals from different antenna ports may be code division multiplexed or frequency division multiplexed over multiple frequency tones. A user equipment (UE) may use the beam reference signals to generate channel estimates for the PBCH signals. In some cases, orthogonal cover codes for code division multiplexed signals may be selected to facilitate generation of channel estimates for PBCH signals transmitted using nearby frequency tones.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for transmitting and receiving radar signals from a radar source while minimizing interference with other radar sources are presented. A transmit signal comprising a first chirp sequence is generated according to a set of waveform parameters, with least one waveform parameter being varied for one or more chirps in the first chirp sequence. Additionally, each chirp of the first chirp sequence can be phase-modulated. A receive signal comprising a second chirp sequence and corresponding to the transmit signal reflected off an object in a surrounding environment is then sampled to determine one or more attributes of the object. In some embodiments, the attributes include distance and speed values calculated using Discrete Fourier Transforms (DFTs). Other attributes that can be calculated from the receive signal include azimuth angle and elevation angle.
