Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure provide a circuit. The circuit includes a control circuit and a return path circuit. The control circuit is configured to operate in response to a first conduction angle of a dimmer coupled to the circuit. The first conduction angle is adjusted to control an output power to a first device. The dimmer has a second conduction angle that is independent of the control of the output power to the first device. The return path circuit is configured to provide a return path to enable providing power to a second device in response to the second conduction angle.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the technical field of communications, and provides an app icon processing method and a communication terminal. The processing method comprises the steps of: determining whether or not an existing application is supported by the current operating environment, the current operating environment comprising the current network environment and/or the current terminal environment, etc.; then, inactivating the app icon corresponding to the existing application not supported by the current operating environment, or, downloading and displaying an application supported by the current operating environment. Preferably, the inactivated app icon is removed or displayed in an inactive state. In this way, in the present invention, the app icons of a plurality of inactive applications can be hidden on the communication terminal so that app icons are cleared automatically, thus aiding the user to find quickly the needed and active app icons.
Abstract:
A method of a mobile station receiving data packets from a serving base station via a multicast or broadcast connection in a wireless network is provided for performing a handover from the serving base station to a target base station. The method comprises, at the level of the mobile station, the steps of: upon the detection of the quantity of buffered data packets in the mobile station being lower than a first threshold value, establishing a unicast connection with the serving base station to receive data packets from the serving base station; and upon detection of the level of buffered data packets reaching the predetermined threshold level, performing a handover from the serving base station to the target base station. According to the invention, a seamless handover of a mobile station in a wireless network providing Multicast and Broadcast Service (MBS service) can be achieved to prevent the MBS service interruption during the handover.
Abstract:
The present invention teaches a methodology for provisioning and managing a network having many network devices. In certain embodiments, groups of member devices are created each having a group policy configuration inherited by member devices. A variety of rules regarding prioritization, versioning, system snapshot, redo and undo are also taught. This embodiment is useful when the network devices can be partitioned into groups of similar type devices for similar applications. Similar physical attributes can also be mapped into identical virtual attributes, enabling policy configurations to be applied to varying devices and physical attribute configurations can be resolved upon device installation.
Abstract:
A mobile station that is initially attached to a first type of wireless access network is involved in a packet-switched emergency call. Upon detection of transitioning of the mobile station, a message is sent indicating transitioning of the mobile station from the first type wireless access network to the second type wireless access network to cause the packet-switched emergency call to be performed over the second type wireless access network.
Abstract:
A method performed by a processing system includes reconstructing a metadata tree of a patient from a metadata tree journal, the metadata tree including a plurality of references to a corresponding plurality of encrypted electronic health records of the patient in an encrypted data store, and validating the metadata tree by comparing first integrity information of the metadata tree to second integrity information corresponding to the metadata tree journal provided by a metadata integrity validator.
Abstract:
A method performed by a processing system includes determining a location in a metadata tree of a patient for an electronic health record, generating a record key for the electronic health record based on the location and a provider key corresponding to a provider, the provider key generated from a patient key corresponding to the patient, encrypting the electronic health record using the record key to generate a encrypted record, and providing the encrypted record to an encrypted data store.
Abstract:
This invention relates to shape memory block copolymers comprising: at least one switching segment having a Ttrans from 10 to 70° C.; and at least one soft segment, wherein at least one of the switching segments is linked to at least one of the soft segments by at least one linkage, and wherein the copolymer transforms from a first shape to a second shape by application of a first stimulus and the copolymer transforms back to the first shape from the second shape by application of a second stimulus. The shape memory block copolymers may be biocompatible and biodegradable.
Abstract:
A method, system and device are provided for avoiding in-device coexistence interference between different radio technologies deployed in adjacent bands on the same device by controlling and separating the LTE signaling and the non-LTE signaling using dedicated time intervals to separate LTE signaling from non-LTE signaling. In addition, coexistence mode handover procedures are provided which use threshold-based triggering events to avoid coexistence interference and to prevent ping-pong effects by establishing a “keeping time” parameter so that a non-interfering network node does not switch back to an interfering network node after handoff. Coexistence interference is also avoided by providing a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) mechanism which accounts for coexistence interference by providing a fixed or variable on-interval parameter and an activity parameter indicating whether non-LTE activity is present to maximize a time interval for non-LTE devices without interference from LTE activity on the same device.
Abstract:
Connection schemes for offshore power generation with an internal collection grid include a power generation system which includes a plurality of generator-rectifier subsystems. The scheme further includes a medium voltage DC (MVDC) collection network with positive pole cables and negative pole cables connected to the DC outputs of the generator-rectifier subsystems. At least one offshore substation includes a positive bus bar and a negative bus bar correspondingly connected to the positive pole cables and negative pole cables of the MVDC collection network and a plurality of main DC-DC converters. Each main DC-DC converter includes multiple modules connected to the MVDC bus bars and each module has a positive and a negative output such that the modules' outputs are serially connected to one another. The schemes may also include a high voltage DC (HVDC) transmission system connected to the modules' outputs and at least one DC/AC converter at an onshore substation.
