摘要: An atomic magnetometer system is disclosed that includes a variable magnetic field source (14) configured to provide an oscillating primary magnetic field to cause a sample (16) to produce a secondary magnetic field. The atomic magnetometer system also includes an atomic magnetometer for detecting the secondary magnetic field. The atomic magnetometer includes an atomic specimen, a pump and probe subsystem configured to pump the atomic specimen to create a polarisation and to probe atomic coherence precession within the atomic specimen with a probe beam, a detector configured to detect the probe beam to produce a detection signal. The system is configured to drive the variable magnetic field source (14) in dependence on the detection signal with a frequency tuned to rf resonance. A method of operating an atomic magnetometer is also disclosed.

摘要: In the simulation of a spatially-extended physical process the complete spatial extent of which is defined by a multiplicity of parameters, each parameter is represented with a multi-state distinguished sequential digital logic circuit the possible states of which represent the possible states of the pertaining parameter. The interaction of each pair of parameters is represented with an interconnection between the pertaining circuits. Each logic circuit is initially established in a known state and thereafter at least one circuit is pulsed to cause evolution of the circuits through some or all of their possible states. The states of certain circuits are determined intermittently as a measure of the corresponding states of the parameters.

摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for monitoring physiological parameters comprising a harness adapted to be worn by a human being and electrical circuitry connected to the harness for calculating physiological parameters in accordance with predetermined algorithms. The harness includes a band which extends around a trunk portion of the human being. The band comprises an inelastic portion and an elastic portion. The elastic portion incorporates an electro-conductive elastomeric means which has a resistance value which changes as a function of elongation of the elastic portion. The electrical circuitry connected to the elastomeric element calculates and displays various physiological parameters.

摘要: The present invention relates to the preparation of substantially pure diastereoisomers of derivatives of tetrahydrofolate and the use of such diastereoisomers. More particularly the present invention provides a process for the preparation of a desired substantially pure (6R or 6S) diastereoisomer of a derivative of tetrahydrofolic acid or salt or ester. The process comprises the steps of: attaching a chiral auxiliary group at either N-5 or N-10 of a mixture of 6R and 6S diastereoisomers of tetrahydrofolic acid, separating the new diastereoisomers, recovering the desired new diastereoisomer (6R or 6S) corresponding to the desired (6R or 6S) diastereoisomer, and converting the substantially pure new diastereoisomer recovered into the corresponding diastereoisomer.
