摘要: A non-lethal arrow that includes a shaft having a non-lethal arrow assembly on a respective end of the shaft. A nock is connected to an opposite end of the shaft. A plurality of vanes is connected to the shaft near the nock. A marker can be attached to an end of the non-lethal arrow assembly that is configured to stick to a target upon impact with the target. The marker is further configured such that the non-lethal arrow disengages from the marker, and falls away from the target upon impact with the target leaving only the marker left on the target.

摘要: A method for characterizing the health of a rechargeable battery includes measuring initial condition parameters of a rechargeable battery prior to the battery being placed into service. A baseline normalization of the initial condition parameters is performed using a standardized relationship data set for a norm battery to generate baseline normalization coefficients to normalize the initial condition parameters to the norm battery. Run-time condition parameters of the battery are measured after the battery is in service as part of a continuous built in test system. The run-time condition parameters are normalized using the standardized relationship data set for the norm battery and the baseline normalization coefficients to generate normalized run-time condition parameters for the battery. The normalized run-time condition parameters are then compared to the standardized relationship data set for the norm battery to calculate a state-of-charge and state-of-health for the battery as the run-time condition.

摘要: A method for measuring ventricular dimensions from M-mode echocardiograms, includes providing a digitized M-mode echocardiogram image, running a plurality of local classifiers, where each local classifier trained to detect a landmark on either an end-diastole (ED) line or an end-systole (ES) line in the image, recording all possible landmarks detected by the classifiers, where a search range in an N-dimensional parameter space defined by the landmarks for each dimension is reduced to a union of subsets, where each dimension of the parameter space corresponds a landmark, for each combination of possible landmarks, checking if an order of the landmarks is consistent with a known ordering of the landmarks, and if the order is consistent, running a global detector on each consistent combination of landmarks to find a landmark combination with a highest detection probability as a confirmed landmark detection, where the landmarks are used for measuring ventricular dimensions.

摘要: A chamber-to-reservoir vented humidification system in which the reservoir is an inverted water bottle elevated above the humidification chamber. A vented cap is provided to couple water from the bottle to the chamber via a supply line coupled between a water port of the cap and a water inlet of the chamber, and to provide a vent between the chamber and the bottle via a vent line coupled between a vent port of the cap and a vent of the chamber. A straw couples the vent port to a space within the inverted bottle spaced from the cap, such as above the water line. The vented cap includes a duckbill valve in the vent port.

摘要: A method and system for the classification of an object within a zone of a specified area with multiple surveillance means. The invention performs the steps of receiving a set of objects within a predefined zone area from each of at least a first and second surveillance means. Subsequently, each received set of objects is filtered to ensure that the objects in the set are comparable to the objects in the other received set. Characteristics of the received sets of objects are compared and characteristics of the objects within a received set of objects are compared to characteristics of the objects within a different set of received objects, wherein the characteristics are based upon a set of predetermined characteristics. It is determined if each object or set identified by the first surveillance means corresponds to an object or set identified by the second surveillance means.

摘要: A magnet structure produces a field within a magnet gap. The field is provided at least in part by a pair of permanent magnets that are fixed in place by a frame. The frame fixes a magnet assembly that is adapted to hold the magnetic material composing the permanent magnets, such that the quantity of the magnetic material can be adjusted to suit the particular application. The magnetic material can be provided in the form of discrete magnetic elements, such as magnetic “bricks”. The frame also functions as the flux collector and return. Accordingly, the general geometry of the magnet structure is fixed, and the amount of magnetic material, and therefore the magnetic field strength, is adjustable.

The method includes determining, from ultrasound data, a measurement of such feature and assigning a color based on a comparison between the measurement and reference data of such feature. The feature may be, for example, an artery and the measurement the intima media thickness of the artery. In such example, the method and apparatus display vessel wall thickness from ultrasound imaging data and includes determining from the ultrasound imaging data, intima media thickness along the vessel wall and assigning a color based on the intima media thickness determined and a reference intima media thickness.
