Abstract:
A tape mirror interface comprises an input terminal coupled to at least one input node and capable of receiving data transfer requests, a plurality of output terminals coupled to a plurality of tape storage devices, and a control element coupled to the input terminal and plurality of output terminals. The control element presents the plurality of tape storage devices as separate media devices and selectively controls data transfer in a synchronous mode and a split mode. In the synchronous mode, writes to a target tape storage media are mirrored to a mirrored tape storage media. In the split mode, writes are written to tape storage devices independently.
Abstract:
A process for producing a package comprising a composition contained within a closed water soluble envelope comprises the initial steps of moulding a first sheet of water soluble material to form at least one recess adapted to contain the composition, placing the composition in the at least one recess, placing a second sheet of water soluble material across the recess, and sealing the first sheet to the second sheet to form a continuous closed seal around the recess thereby closing the package. The or each closed package is conditioned in an environment of raised relative humidity for a period of time prior to or during the packaging of the package within a secondary pack. The secondary pack includes a moisture barrier to maintain the package within the secondary pack in a conditioned form.
Abstract:
A package for a liquid comprising an outer container, an inner water soluble or water dispersible solution or dispersion in an organic liquid of a chemical. There is a space between the container and the envelope which is at least 5% of the volume of the outer container. The chemical is potentially toxic or damaging or detrimental to health or to the environment. Examples of chemicals are pesticides and phytosanitary chemicals.
Abstract:
In a cellular mobile access communications system each mobile terminal registers its location at intervals. From the registration history of each mobile, a probable group of cells within which a mobile terminal may be located is predicted. When a mobile is to be paged, the paging message is transmitted to the predicted cell group. If no response is received from the terminal, the page message is then broadcast to further system cells. This reduces the overall paging load on the system.
Abstract:
Improved folding broom-cleaning-storage apparatus for cleaning are provided. The folding broom-cleaning-storage apparatus comprises components to form a variety of broom configurations. The apparatus comprises folding components which may be assembled and disassembled quickly and simply. The apparatus comprises a case which may be used as a separate dustpan, and which may be connected to the broom configurations for use, and which may store the broom components when the broom components are disassembled. The apparatus may comprise shaped bristles, which may be arranged in layers, and offer improvements in efficiency when used.
Abstract:
A hydraulic cell stretching device comprising a source of variable pressured hydraulic fluid hydraulically coupled to a flexing chamber. The flexing chamber has at least one cell well. The cell well has a membrane subjected to the variable pressured hydraulic fluid.
Abstract:
A brush attachment is provided. The brush attachment includes a mounting frame configured to mount to the front of a greens mower. A pair of arms may be pivotally attached to the mounting frame and may extend downwards towards a surface in which the mower is resting. A brush frame having bristles may be attached to the arms. Therefore, a user may cut the grass on the putting green of a golf course so that the brush fluffs the grass uniformly and then the mower cuts the grass evenly.
Abstract:
The present invention provides systems and methods for radiometrically measuring temperature during ablation. An interface module includes a processor; a first input/output (I/O) port configured to receive digital radiometer and thermocouple signals from an integrated catheter tip (ICT) that includes a radiometer; a second I/O port configured to receive ablative energy from an electrosurgical generator; a temperature display; a patient relay in communication with the first and second I/O ports and the processor; and a computer-readable medium storing radiometer and thermocouple operation parameters and instructions for causing the processor to: calculate a temperature adjacent to the ICT based on the radiometer and thermocouple signals and the operation parameters, causing the temperature display to display the calculated temperature, and closing the patient relay so as to pass ablative energy received on the second I/O port to the first I/O port.
Abstract:
An apparatus for determining a health of radio-frequency transmitters each transmitting a transmitted signal during normal operation. The apparatus comprises a receiver for receiving received signals, each received signal responsive to a transmitted signal, a first element for determining signal parameters of each received signal, the signal parameters responsive to an operating condition of a transmitter, each transmitted signal and each associated received signal including an identifier of the transmitter that transmitted the transmitted signal, the apparatus using the identifier to link determined signal parameters with the transmitter that transmitted the transmitted signal and a second element for determining a health of the transmitter that transmitted the transmitted signal, the health responsive to a relationship between one or more signal parameters and a selected value or a range of selected values for each signal parameter.
Abstract:
A purge plug for welding applications is provided that can be interchangeably used to seal tubing, pipes, or the like of various diameter or cross-sectional area. The purge plug has a central body with a male connector and a diffuser disposed on the end portions. The purge plug also includes one or more flexible seals annularly disposed around the central body. In some implementations, the diameter of the flexible seals is slightly larger than the diameter of the tubing or pipe. When the purge plug is inserted into the tubing or pipe, the resiliency of the seal allow the seal to expand mechanically and flex against the inner walls of the tubing, thus sealingly engage with the inner walls.
