Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to computer-implemented systems and methods for wireless communication via proximity detection. The method may include determining, by a computer via a plurality of induction coils in a proximity transponder, a magnetic field emitted from a base station. The computer may include one or more processors, a radio transceiver, and the proximity transponder. The method may also include transmitting, by the proximity transponder to the base station in response to the magnetic field, identification information. Additionally, the method may include receiving, from the base station, a verification of the identification information. The method may also include establishing, by the radio transceiver based at least in part on the verification, a radio connection with the base station.
Abstract:
Technologies for the calibration of a body presence sensor include a mobile computing device configured to calibrate the body presence sensor based on a present physical configuration mode of the mobile computing device. The mobile computing device may be adjustable into multiple physical configuration modes based on the intended use of the mobile computing device. The mobile computing device controls a transmit power level of an associated communication circuit based on whether the body presence sensor detects a body presence within proximity to the mobile computing device.
Abstract:
A window assembly for a vehicle has a transparent layer including a metal compound such that the transparent layer as is electrically conductive. The transparent layer defines an area covering the window assembly. An outer region which is electrically non-conductive surrounds the area. The window assembly includes an antenna element including wire or transparent coating disposed within and surrounded by the outer region without extending into the transparent layer. The antenna element is electrically disconnected from the transparent layer such that the antenna element operates independent of the transparent layer. A feeding element is coupled to the antenna element for energizing the antenna element. The feeding element is electrically disconnected from the transparent layer such that the feeding element energizes the antenna element independent of the transparent layer.
Abstract:
A fixing apparatus for fixing a cargo insulation panel to a hull is provided. The fixing apparatus includes a fixing plate adhered to one face of the insulation panel, a plurality of fixing brackets protruded to the outside of the fixing plate, protruded portions of the fixing brackets being fixed by stud bolts arranged on the hull, and coupling means being configured to couple the fixing brackets to the fixing plate. The fixing apparatus can improve the continuity of the insulation panel, enhance the adhesiveness and airtightness with a member such as supple triplex, easily adjust adjacent insulation panels vertically or laterally. The fixing apparatus also solves the problem of damage caused by interference or the inconvenience of transportation by allowing the fixing bracket to be inserted during the transportation of the insulation panel.
Abstract:
An antenna system for receiving an RF signal from a first antenna and a second antenna includes a phase shift circuit. The phase shift circuit shifts a phase of the RF signal from the second antenna by one of a plurality of possible phase shifts to produce a phase shifted signal. A combiner combines the RF signal from the first antenna and the phase shifted signal to produce a combined signal. A comparator circuit compares a signal quality of the combined signal with a minimum threshold value to determine if the signal quality of the combined signal is equal to or greater than the threshold value. The comparator circuit is in communicative control of the phase shift circuit and maintains the phase shift of the RF signal received by the second antenna in response to the signal quality of the combined signal being equal to or greater than the threshold value.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a metal clad laminate, a method of manufacturing the same and a heat-radiating substrate using the same. The metal clad laminate has increased adhesion because a layer of carbon nanoparticles is formed between bonding surfaces of upper and lower metal foils to a prepreg, and has improved heat conductive properties and mechanical properties because the prepreg has carbon fibers incorporated therein. Also, resin members having carbon nanofibers incorporated therein may be alternately stacked with metal layers, and metal layers may be inserted in the prepreg thus improving heat conductive properties, and the number of stacked layers may vary depending on the end use thereby controlling heat conductive properties and mechanical properties of the metal clad laminate.

Abstract:
An antenna system (10) for receiving satellite signals in a vehicle exhibits a radiation pattern (11). The antenna system (10) includes a plurality of parasitic elements (18) which are electrically connectable together using linking switches (20). The geometry of the radiation pattern (11) changes as the linking switches (20) are activated and deactivated. Control of the linking switches (20), and thus the geometry of the radiation pattern (11), is based on the geographic location of the antenna system (10). Thus, the radiation pattern (10) can be steered based on geographic location to enhance signal reception. The geographic location may be obtained automatically via a GPS receiver (30) or manually via a user.
