    摘要: A dielectric waveguide designed to avoid the influence of reflection of electromagnetic waves at connected portions of dielectric strips and to have an improved characteristic. A third dielectric strip is inserted in a part of a connection section at which a first dielectric strip and a second dielectric strip are connected to each other, and the distances between the three connection planes in said connection section are determined so that a wave reflected at the connection plane between the first and third dielectric strips, a wave reflected at the connection plane between the first and second dielectric strips, and a wave reflected at the connection plane between the second and third dielectric strips are superposed with a phase difference of 2&pgr;/3 from each other. Alternatively or in addition, the distance between the first-second dielectric strip connection plane and the first-third dielectric strip connection plane is set to ⅙ of the guide wavelength of an electromagnetic wave propagating through the dielectric strips, and the distance between the first-second dielectric strip connection plane and the second-third dielectric strip connection plane is set to ⅙ of the guide wavelength. Reflected waves are thereby superposed in phase opposition to each other to cancel out. In this manner, propagation of a reflected signal to ports is limited.

    摘要: A method of processing a photosensitive glass includes exposing. Photosensitive glass by radiation from a laser whose oscillation wavelength lies within the range of wavelengths of exposing light to which the glass responds. Then, the exposed portions 1c are thermally developed and etched. Since a laser beam propagates with a high rectilinearity, the front and rear surfaces of thick photosensitive glass can be exposed without producing dimensional errors. Therefore, the etching accuracy is improved. Especially, where the front and rear surfaces of photosensitive glass are etched, both surfaces can be processed so as to form the same shape in them accurately. In addition, because almost all the energy of the laser radiation is used for exposure of the photosensitive glass, the energy is not wasted and so the efficiency is high.

    摘要: Trying on the clothes is simulated by processing an image sequence by using a posture dictionary, and a three-dimensional figure, obtained in advance, of a person who wishes to try on clothing. The process includes estimating the posture of the person, and simulating the motions of the clothes, in agreement with estimated time series posture data. A virtual modeling apparatus comprises an imaging device configured to take an image sequence, a posture-estimator which estimates the posture of a person in the image sequence from the three-dimensional figure data of the person and from data for various postures, a posture corrector which generates smooth and natural posture time series data from the time series of estimated postures, a clothes simulator which calculates the motions of the clothing being modeled, and a display device which displays images of the person as if they were actually wearing the clothing.
