    摘要: There is provided an improved roof solar panel, embodying an array of photovoltaic cells mounted on conventional modular roof sheathing, that can be readily and easily installed onto a conventional sloped roof and integrated into conventional roof shingles. Such panel includes a shingle mounting surface on a perimeter area of the sheathing, a flash strip mounted inside such shingle mounting surface and, when installed on the roof, a retainer trim for securing shingles mounted on said shingle mounting surface, while mounting to the flash strip and sealing to a perimeter of a rigid transparent protective sheet over the array. The retainer trim also serves to provide means for securing the panel onto roof trusses. Integration with the conventional roof shingling provides, inter alia, an attractive low profile with improved water shedding and wind resistance properties. There is also an intermediate roof solar panel, for installation on a roof so as to provide the aforementioned improved roof solar panel. The invention also relates to a kit comprising, inter alia, said intermediate roof solar panel, and to a method of installing said intermediate roof solar panel.

    摘要: A magnetron has an anode and a cathode. The cathode includes two parts joined by sleeves of ferrous alloy spaced by a sleeve of insulating material. The ferrous alloy sleeves are adapted to be connected to opposite poles of a power supply for heating the cathode. A high frequency power supply is used to heat the cathode. The ferrous alloy sleeves have a surface coating of conductive material. The currents induced by the magnetic field generated by the high frequency currents of the power supply are largely confined to the conductive coating due to the skin effect, avoiding the heating of and losses in the ferrous alloy itself which would otherwise ensue.

    摘要: A high frequency cathode heater supply for a microwave source includes a SMPS inverter and an isolation transformer having a primary winding arranged to be powered by the SMPS inverter, a monitor winding passing through primary core assemblies of the primary winding and a secondary winding arranged for connection to the cathode heater. A current monitor is arranged to monitor a current in the primary windings. Signal processing modules are arranged to receive a first input signal from the monitor winding indicative of a voltage across the cathode heater and a second input signal from the current monitor indicative of a current through the cathode heater. The signal processing modules are arranged to output a control signal to the SMPS inverter to control power supplied to the cathode heater dependent on a monitored resistance of, or monitored power supplied to, the cathode heater as determined from the first input signal and the second input signal.

    摘要: When applications connect to a data pipe, which is located on the same system as the connecting applications, the data pipe is considered a local pipe. That is, local media is used to pipe the data. If, however, an application on a different system is to access the pipe, the pipe is transitioned from a local pipe to a cross-system pipe, in which an alternative non-local media is used to pipe the data. The application causing the transition and any other applications to subsequently connect to the pipe use the cross-system pipe. Any local applications still allocated to the pipe are transitioned, such that they now access the cross-system pipe, instead of the local pipe. Likewise, when an application disconnects from a cross-system pipe, such that all remaining connections to the pipe are local connections, the pipe is transitioned from a cross-system pipe to a local pipe.

    摘要: A pulse circuit forms part of a radar transmitter in which a pulse forming network is used to generate a high current pulse at relatively low voltage and to feed it via a transformer to a magnetron which operates at typically 30 kV. A number of pulse forming networks are connected in parallel and are discharged by respective thyristors. The outputs of the pulse forming networks are combined so as to provide a low voltage pulse (of the order of 600 volts) having sufficient power to drive a radar transmitter. The pulse forming networks must each be capable of handling very large current and must have characteristics which are identical to each other. To enable these requirements to be met, each pulse forming network includes an inductor which is formed as a coiled thin conductive layer lying on the surface of an electrically insulating board. It is formed by printed circuit board techniques and a mirror image coil is formed on both sides of a double sided printed circuit board. All pulse forming networks are connected via a common double sided printed circuit board to the primary winding of a pulse transformer.
