Abstract:
A corrosion-resistant granular magnetic recording medium with improved recording performance comprises a non-magnetic substrate having a surface; and a layer stack on the substrate surface, including, in order from the surface: a granular magnetic recording layer; an intermediate magnetic de-coupling layer; and a corrosion preventing magnetic cap layer. The intermediate magnetic de-coupling layer has an optimal thickness and/or composition for: (1) promoting magnetic exchange de-coupling between the granular magnetic recording layer and the magnetic cap layer; and (2) reducing the dynamic closure field (Hcl) for determining writeability and eraseability of the medium. Grain boundaries of the magnetic cap layer are substantially oxide-free, and have a greater density and lower average porosity and surface roughness than those of the granular magnetic recording layer.

An abdomen massaging apparatus includes a gear unit, a drive motor unit, a toothed rack unit, and a sliding track unit. The toothed rack unit includes a plurality of elongated toothed racks which are arranged in a radiating manner, a plurality of roller gears each meshing with a respective one of the toothed racks and each having a central mandrel, and a plurality of rolls each mounted on the central mandrel of a respective one of the roller gears. The sliding track unit includes a successive channel to allow passage of the central mandrel of each of the roller gears. Thus, the rolls are movable along the toothed racks of the toothed rack unit reciprocally and simultaneously so as to provide a massaging effect to a user.
Abstract:
A rolling element chain has a connecting belt and multiple retaining elements. The connecting belt is extended longitudinally and has multiple receiving holes. The receiving holes are defined at intervals through the connecting belt and have two sides opposite to each other. The retaining elements are mounted in pairs on the belt near the sides of each receiving hole and each retaining element has multiple retaining surfaces adjacent to each other. Each retaining surface has a straight segment and a projecting segment having a projecting edge. The straight segments and the projecting segments of the adjacent retaining surfaces on each retaining element are arranged in an alternative manner. The retaining surfaces on each pair of the retaining elements are opposite and facing to each other.

An enzyme multimer is provided which comprises a plurality of monomer units including a first monomer unit having enzymatic activity and a second monomer unit having enzymatic activity, wherein each of the first monomer unit and the second monomer unit comprise a cysteine residue and the cysteine residues of each monomer unit are covalently bound to each other through a disulfide bond to covalently attach the first monomer unit to the second monomer unit.
Abstract:
Tournament refereeing digital display apparatus has a transmitting terminal equipped with a pressure sensor, a control circuit, and a transmitting circuit; and a receiving terminal equipped with a wireless receiving circuit, a control circuit, and a display. The transmitting apparatuses are set at the specified zones on the player's bodies, and the sensitivity of the sensor is adjusted according to the regulations of the game. When one of the specified zones is effectively hit with the predetermined force, a signal is delivered to the receiving terminal. After the signal is treated at the receiving terminal, it is converted to a information of score date and displayed on the display terminal. In this version, the tournament can be carried out with a fair and reliable automatic umpire thereby encouraging people willing to participate in the game.

A flash memory cell array comprises a substrate, a string of memory cell structures and source region/drain region. Each of memory cell structures includes a stack gate structure including a select gate dielectric layer, a select gate and a gate cap layer formed on the substrate; a spacer is set on the sidewall of the select gate; a control gate connected to the stack gate structure is set on the one side of the stack gate structure; a floating gate is set between the control gate and the substrate; an inter-gate dielectric layer is set between the control gate and the floating gate; and a tunneling dielectric layer is set between the floating gate and the substrate. The source region/drain region is set in the substrate near outer control gate and stack gate structure of the flash memory cell array.
Abstract:
A lubricant supply unit has a casing and a rear seal. The rear seal is mounted on the casing in fluid-tight matter. The casing has four tapered paths defined through the casing. Multiple porous fillings are fitted into the casing. The porous filling near the rear seal has spike protrusions extended into the tapered paths and in contact with a track shaft. Each spike protrusion of the porous filling is compressed by the respective tapered path so that the density of each spike protrusion becomes greater than density of the rest of the porous filling. Therefore, when the lubricating oil inside the porous filling is flowing out of the porous fillings via the tapered paths, flow velocity and amount of the lubricating oil are slow and stable. The rear seal effectively seals a joint between the cover and the casing.

A sealing structure capable of withstanding water pressure, which has a zipper on two sides of a flexible member at an opening of a container, one margin of the opening is a vertical extension of a buffer plate. Fitted to one end of the buffer plate is a pillar-shaped inside fastener unit. Another margin of the opening is a vertical extension of a buffer plate, fitted to one end of the buffer plate is a C-shaped outside fastener unit. By closing the opening with the zipper, wrapping of the inside fastener unit by the outside fastener unit, and an additional C-shaped exterior wrapping strip wrapping the outside fastener unit, so the inside and outside fastener units are completely and firmly combined to completely seal the opening of a flexible container, and water is kept from seeping in, thereby achieving its sealing purposes to resist water and withstand water pressure.
Abstract:
The invention provides a novel recombinant polypeptide that comprises a nucleic acid binding element and a hairpin motif that selectively binds to a neurotrophin receptor. The recombinant polypeptide may be used for neurotrophin receptor mediated delivery of nucleic acid, including therapeutic DNA, bound to the recombinant polypeptide. In one embodiment, the hairpin motif is a hairpin motif of a neurotrophin, such as nerve growth factor, brain derived neurotrophic factor, neurotrophin 3 and neurotrophin 4/5. The hairpin motif is also a neurotrophin agonist and therefore may be used to treat any disorder responsive to neurotrophin treatment, such as neurological disorders and tumour. In one embodiment the agonist comprises a hairpin motif that selectively binds to a neurotrophin receptor and a positively charged binding domain which is believed to enhance receptor binding by binding to negatively charged cell membrane.
