    摘要： In a fluid sampling system, a pre-slit injection site includes a housing with a flow path therethrough. A first end of the housing carries a pre-slit septum. One form of a blunt cannula, usable with the injection site, carries a locking member. When the pre-slit injection site slidably receives the blunt cannula, the locking member latches to the injection site and creates a mechanically coupled unit. Another form of the cannula includes an elongated member having a tapered distal end region and a substantially cylindrical sheath surrounding the elongated member to protect it from inadvertent touch contamination. The sheath may include means defining at least two slots opposite one another at its distal end and the sheath may be outwardly tapered.

    摘要： A container for housing a beneficial agent that can be removably coupled to a structure defining a fluid flow path. The container comprises a body defining a first and second interior area separated by a wall that terminates at an opening providing fluid communication between the first and second interior area. A cannula is provided that extends from the body for being removably received by the structure defining the fluid path. The cannula includes an inlet opening and inlet fluid flow path and an outlet opening and outlet fluid flow path. The inlet fluid flow path being in fluid communication with the first interior area, and the outlet fluid flow path being in fluid communication with the second interior area. The second interior area houses the solid beneficial agent and allows fluid that flows through the inlet fluid flow path to pass by at least a portion of the beneficial agent.

    摘要： A spike assembly having an elongate spike defining a hollow cannula that is in fluid communication with the interior of a luer connection portion. The spike assembly provides needleless access to a stopper of a vial to facilitate injection and withdrawal of fluids via a syringe barrel selectively secured to the luer connection portion. The syringe can safely be removed from the spike assembly and then be directly attached to a luer compatible connector. The elongate spike may include a frangible tip portion that can break away from the spike assembly within a vial. The spike assembly may have a neck with a pair of gripping wing members. The spike assembly may have a feature that prevents rotation of the spike in the vial stopper, thereby allowing the syringe to be easily and safely disconnected from the spike assembly without having to grasp the spike assembly.
