Abstract:
The present invention refers to a mixing scheme containing a plurality of pigmented base paint compositions having defined colors and optionally one or more non-pigmented base paint compositions comprising at least one rheology controlled base paint composition containing at least one pigment selected from the group consisting of inorganic pigments, di-keto-pyrrolo-pyrrole type pigments, organic liquid crystal type pigments and carbon black and having the following rheology profile (1) an initial viscosity V1 at 20° C. of 65 Pa s or greater when measured at a shear rate of 10−3 s−1, (2) a viscosity V2 at 20° C. when measured at a shear rate of 10−3 s−1 immediately after subjecting to a shear rate of at least 15 s−1 whereby the viscosity V2 is 700 Pa s or less and is less than or equal to 70% of V1; (3) 24 hours after subjected by shaking to a shear rate of at least 15s−1 a viscosity V3 at 20° C. of at least 140% of V2 and be at least 55 Pa s, to a process of preparing a refinish coating composition using the mixing scheme of the present invention, to a refinish coating compositions obtainable therefrom, to a process of coating a substrate using the refinish coating composition and to a coated substrate obtainable therefrom.
Abstract:
A dry powder inhaler includes an actuator pivotably mounted on a base. Movement of the actuator from a first position to a second position drives the a dobber to open a blister. A dispersion engine sub-assembly has a blister hood positioned over a blister opening position. A powder pathway connects from the blister hood into a powder dispersion engine. Upon inhalation, air flow draws powder up and out of an opened blister, into the blister hood and to the powder dispersion engine. Movement of the actuator causes the dobber to shear open a blister and also to press the blister hood down over the blister. This increases air flows up and around the open blister, carrying the pharmaceutical powder up and out of the blister and into the dispersion engine.
Abstract:
A dose tape for use in a dry powder inhaler has blisters formed in a formpack layer. A lidstock layer is permanently attached over the formpack layer, to seal a dose of dry powder within each of the blisters. A tear strip is attached to the lidstock layer over each of the blisters. The dose tape is provided in a coil within an inhaler having a breath actuated tape advance blister opening system. Moving a dustcap off of a mouthpiece into an open position places the tape advance/blister opening system into a ready condition. When the patient inhales on the mouthpiece, the tape advance/blister opening system is triggered. The blister or dose tape is advanced by one increment, and a blister is automatically opened. Pulling on the tear strip shears out an area of the lidstock over the blister, unsealing the powder contents. Airflow through an air path in the inhaler, generated by inhalation, carries the powder to a disbursion chamber, or directly to the mouthpiece, for inhalation by the patient.
Abstract:
A process for refinishing a motor vehicle by selecting and mixing two or more pigmented base paints from a series of master colors, each base paint having a hydroxyl functional polymer selected from the group consisting of an acrylic addition polymer, a polyester polymer and mixtures thereof, having a number average molecular weight of 600 to 10 000 and a hydroxyl value of 5 to 500, and adding a hardener of a polyisocyanate crosslinker to react and crosslink with said hydroxyl functional polymer in each base paint to form a thermosetting pigmented composition, the improvement in the process comprising; adding a catalyst mixture of a tin catalyst and a polyfunctional thiol having at least three thiol groups per molecule in which the ratio of the number of moles of thiol groups from the polyfunctional thiol to the number of moles of tin from the tin catalyst is 1:1 to 500:1, to form a catalyzed pigmented coating composition having a more constant irrespective of the pigments contained in the two or more basic paints; applying a layer of the catalyzed pigmented coating composition to the surface of the motor vehicle, and; causing the applied layer to dry and cure.

Abstract:
A stormwater treatment system including a substantially water impermeable treatment container for treating stormwater through a bioretention mechanism. The treatment container includes an overflow/bypass opening to receive stormwater that bypasses the treatment container filter media, or is only partially treated as a result of high stormwater flows in excess of the capacity of the container to treat the stormwater. The stormwater is directed into the container through an inlet, such as an inlet pipe, preferably connected to a roof drain system for processing and treating stormwater from the roof of a building. The overflow/bypass opening may be adjacent the top wall or bottom wall of the container.
