摘要: A process for partially swapping real storage areas used by a program is utilized in a computer system which executes programs by multiprogramming under control of a virtual storage type operating system. A first portion of a real storage area, allocated to a program to be swapped out, remains allocated to that program while the contents of a second portion of the real storage area are saved in an auxiliary storage so that the second portion is deallocated from that program. The saved contents of the second portion stored in the auxiliary storage are loaded in the real storage when the program is to be swapped in.

摘要: The present invention provide a transmission system comprising a transmission apparatus for transmitting audio data of multi channels and auxiliary data required for playback of the audio data, and a receiving apparatus for receiving the audio data and the auxiliary data which are transmitted by the transmission apparatus. A multiplexer of the transmission apparatus creates block data that is composed of 8 frames, and first 1 byte of each frame is allocated to a header having Sync, OE and the like, the second byte is allocated to the auxiliary data including AUX data and copyright protect information, and remaining bytes are used to transmit the audio data. An encryptor carries out an encryption process for the second and later bytes of each frame, and a communication means outputs encrypted data. A communication means of the receiving apparatus receives the encrypted data from the transmission apparatus, a decoder decodes the encrypted data, and a demultiplexer demultiplexes the audio data and the auxiliary data. Therefore, this transmission system transmits multi-channel audio data of the DVD-Audio or the like efficiently on a transmission line using fixed length frames according to the MOST method, and takes measures for copyright protection of audio data.

摘要: Stream data and a command output from a drive device are individually packetized in a first packet processing unit. The stream data packet and the command packet are further multiplexed, and the multiplexed data is transmitted to a transmission path using a synchronous channel. When the command output from a decoding unit is packetized in a second packet processing unit, it is packetized by multiplexing flow control information output from the decoding unit, and is transmitted to the first packet processing unit using a synchronous channel of the transmission path. Based on this flow control information, reading/writing by the drive device is controlled.

摘要: In a file system capable of reserving a storage area, disk fragments can be prevented and an insufficient file system area is hard to occur. A response time of writing a small size file can be shortened. When a file is written, a file size is compared with a plurality of preset threshold values and reservation is executed at a reservation size corresponding to the file size. If the reservation is failed due to an insufficient file system capacity, the reservation is again executed at an actual I/O size to effectively use the file system area. If the file size does not reach the preset smallest threshold value, the reservation is again executed at the actual I/O size and the reservation release process for the file equal to or smaller than the smallest threshold value is skipped.

摘要: A pillared clay possessing the ability to exchange cations is produced by a method which comprises heating a cation-exchange clay consisting of (1) silicate layers composed of octahedrons of alumina having part of the aluminum thereof substituted by magnesium or octahedrons of magnesia having part of the magnesium thereof substituted by lithium and tetrahedrons of silica and parallelly arranged in a state assuming negative electric charge and (2) exchangeable cations interposed between the silicate layers in a state retaining an electric charge balance with the negative electric charge of the silicate layers, thereby causing part of the exchangeable cations to be fixed in the silicate layers and inducing a decrease in the cation-exchange capacity of the clay, then cross-linking the interstices between the silicate layers of the clay, and thereafter causing liberation of the fixed cations.By causing a pillared clay which possesses the ability to exchange cations to be further cross-linked with pillars different from the pillars used in the clay, a pillared clay having pillars of a plurality of kinds is produced. By causing a pillared clay which possesses the ability to exchange cations to be further cross-linked with pillars identical with the pillars used in the clay, a pillared clay containing increased amounts of pillars is obtained.
