Abstract:
A mobile communications device having an LTE radio technology and at least one other technology (for example, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) determines whether transmissions using the other radio technology causes, or is likely to cause interference in reception of LTE signals. If such interference exists or is likely, then a signal indicating interference is sent to the LTE base station, which can take action to try to mitigate or prevent such interference. The mobile communications device can have a timer so that the interference indicating signal is only sent periodically, either at regular intervals, or whenever the interference is determined to exist after the timer period has expired. In some cases, a signal indicating that the interference level has reduced can be sent, again either at regular intervals, to whenever the interference level changes.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a Bacillus subtilis alpha-amylase (AmyE) or its variants thereof. AmyE or its variants thereof may be used to more efficiently produce fermentable sugars from starch. Also disclosed are a composition comprising a glucoamylase and AmyE or variant thereof and a method of processing starch utilizing the described enzyme composition.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a process for producing isoprenoid precursor molecules and/or isoprenoids from a starch substrate by saccharification and/or fermentation. The saccharification is effectively catalyzed by a glucoamylase at a pH in the range of 5.0 to 8.0. At a pH of 6.0 or above, the glucoamylase possesses at least 50% activity relative to its maximum activity. The saccharification and fermentation may be performed as a simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) process.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an enzyme blend comprising a low pH, thermostable alpha-amylase and a Bacillus licheniformis alpha-amylase. The blend can include at least about 1.0 Liquefon Unit (LU) of the B. licheniformis alpha-amylase for every 5.0 Modified Wohlgemuth Unit (MWU) of the low pH, thermostable alpha-amylase. The enzyme blend described is suitable for starch liquefaction and saccharification, ethanol production, and/or sweetener production, among other things. Also provided herein is a method of processing a starch by liquefying the starch with the low pH, thermostable alpha-amylase and the Bacillus licheniformis alpha-amylase, simultaneously or sequentially.
Abstract:
Large scale system operation may be provided. Upon receiving an action request from a user, a determination may be made as to whether the user requires elevated permissions to perform the action request. In response to determining that the user requires elevated permissions to perform the action request, the action request may be forwarded to a lockbox for evaluation and a permission response may be received from the lockbox.
Abstract:
A communication system is described in which a home base station operating in a hybrid access mode is able to provide preferential connectivity to mobile communication devices that are members of a closed subscriber group associated with the home base station compared to mobile communication devices that are not members of the closed subscriber group.
Abstract:
A Home NodeB (HNB) is provided that can be triggered to dynamically change its operating radio parameters, such as its transmission frequency or its primary scrambling code without having to be rebooted and which communicates the changed operating parameters to the mobile user devices served thereby. In this way a seamless changeover of the operating parameters can be provided that is transparent to users. The HNB may be triggered to change operating parameters by the mobile operating network or by an internal procedure.
Abstract:
Variants of B. licheniformis alpha-amylase exhibit improved enzymatic performance, including increased themostability and reduced calcium dependence. Compositions comprising the variants are useful in methods of starch processing, starch liquefaction, fermatation, starch saccharification, cleaning, laundrying, textile desizing, baking, and biofilm removal. The nucleic acids encoding the variants are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A switched-capacitor amplifier arrangement and a method to amplify a signal are presented. A forward path has at least one switched capacitor (10) controlled by a clock signal, thus providing an amplification phase (1) of the forward path and an additional clock phase (2). A damping means (22) is connected to the forward path, the damping means being designed for attenuation of the signal peak at the beginning (2p) of the amplification phase. This avoids an undesired feed forward effect at the beginning of the.
Abstract:
A method and system for controlling access to database information. One embodiment of the method includes a controlled interface through which database queries can be issued by an authorized user. Additionally, each authorized user may be granted access to specific scripts or tools that operate in conjunction with information stored by a database. Upon logging into the system, a user can be provided via the controlled interface a selection of scripts that he or she is authorized to use in conjunction with the database information. To enable operation of these scripts, specific information within the database is linked to particular scripts. Therefore, a user's access to database information is restricted by the scripts he or she can use with the database. When new information is added to the database and linked to specific scripts, it is automatically available to users granted access to one or more of those scripts.
