Abstract: The present disclosure provides an inorganic dental filler including a surface treated with at least one silane. Exemplary silanes described in the present disclosure for the surface treatment of the inorganic filler include silanes of Formula I and/or Formula II: (RSi)—(CR1R2)n—(NH—C(O)—O—CH2—CH2)q—N(R5)—C(O)—NH—(CH2—CH2—O)t—CR3R4—CH2-(A) Formula I (RSi)—(CR1R2)n—NH—C(O)—O—CR3R4-(L)q-CH2-(A) Formula II, wherein: RSi is a silane-containing group of the formula —Si(Yp)(R6)3-p, wherein Y is a hydrolysable group, R6 is a monovalent alkyl or aryl group, and p is 1, 2, or 3. Methods of making and using the surface treated inorganic dental fillers are also disclosed.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an additive manufactured article including a first portion and a second portion integral to the first portion. The second portion includes a coupling configured to engage a tool, as well as a frangible section at a connection point to the first portion. Further, a method of making the article is provided, including obtaining a photopolymerizable material and selectively curing the photopolymerizable material to form the article. Another method is provided, including obtaining a digital three-dimensional model of a patient's dental anatomy comprising a tooth in need of restoration and computing a digital three-dimensional model of a dental restoration to fit within the patient's dental anatomy, including determining a shape of the dental restoration. Optionally, the patient's dental anatomy may be prepared for a dental restoration prior to obtaining the digital three-dimensional model. A kit is also provided, including the article and a tool configured to attach to the coupling of the article. Having a coupling integral to the rest of the article allows for easy attachment to a handling tool.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are non-aqueous compositions including: a flowable Part A including at least one resin and Reactant A; and a flowable Part B including at least one resin and Reactant B; wherein at least one of flowable Part A and flowable Part B further includes a free radically polymerizable resin; wherein at least one of flowable Part A and flowable Part B further includes a free radical initiator system; wherein flowable Part A and flowable Part B are capable of being mixed to provide a flowable mixed composition; wherein when flowable Part A and flowable Part B are mixed, Reactant A and Reactant B are capable of interacting to cause a non-free radical reaction within a first staging time to provide a first staged stable consistency for the mixed composition; wherein Reactant A comprises an acid and Reactant B comprises a base, and upon mixing flowable Part A and flowable Part B, the Reactant A acid is capable of reacting with the Reactant B base in an ionic acid-base reaction; and wherein the mixed composition having the first staged stable consistency is capable of forming a hardened dental composition upon initiation of free radical polymerization.

Abstract: A syringe assembly being assembled from a syringe for dispensing a dental or medical substance, and a protective cover. The protective cover has a geometrically determined, non-foldable tubular protective shaft. The syringe has a cartridge having an outlet for the substance. Further, the cartridge and the protective cover are assembled with the cartridge being received within the protective shaft. The syringe further comprises a dispensing tip that is connected to the outlet for dispensing the substance from the dispensing tip. A first seal is provided between the dispensing tip and the outlet, and a second seal is provided between the dispensing tip and the protective shaft.
