    Abstract: A method of determining bearing preload by vibration measurement including mounting the bearing on a vibration tester, the outer ring clamped preventing rotation, mounting a sensor proximate the outer ring to measure vibration, the bearing inner ring rotated to excavate eigen-frequencies, the measured vibration data transmitted from the sensor to a computer workstation, the computer workstation performs a numerical FFT transforming data to Frequency Domain, spectral data from the FFT analyzed with the computer workstation, a peak detection algorithm determines the peaks that are the various modes of the outer ring, the modes are sorted and main modes identified, numerical relationship is obtained for each mode between the resonance and preload, the mode relationships are compared to one or more references, a match between the numerical relationships for each mode and the ideally referenced graph modes indicates a correct preload is determined. Also, a system for carrying out the method.

    Abstract: A process for determining the total pitch deviation of a position sensor fitted with a magnetic disk and a magnetic detector, the magnetic disk comprising pairs of magnetic poles, the process includes recording, over one mechanical turn, an angular signal of the magnetic intensity measured by the magnetic detector as a function of the angle of rotation of the magnetic disk, determining zero-crossing positions based on the angular signal recorded and the number of zero-crossing position determined, determining the pole pair lengths based on the zero-crossing positions, and determining the total pitch deviation based on the pole pair lengths.

    Abstract: A vehicle wheel hub assembly includes an outer member configured to be mounted to a non-rotatable portion of the vehicle and an inner member rotatably supported in the outer member by a bearing. An annular target body is coupled to the inner member. A first magnetic target track is disposed on the annular target body, and a first sensor is located adjacent to the first magnetic target track and configured to sense angular displacement of the first magnetic target track and to produce a first output signal. A second magnetic target track is disposed on the annular target body, and the second magnetic target track is spaced from the first magnetic target track. A second sensor is located adjacent to the second magnetic target track for sensing angular displacement of the second target track and is configured to produce a second output signal.

    Abstract: An insulating device is for a bearing mountable within a housing and includes a generally annular metallic body configured to couple with an outer ring of the bearing so as to be mounted to the bearing when the bearing is separate from a housing.     Abstract: An electrically conductive assembly for preventing current flow through the raceways of a bearing includes a mounting ring disposeable within a retention groove of an outer member or a bearing outer ring and is formed of an electrically conductive elastic material. The mounting ring has two circumferential ends spaced apart and is deflectable inwardly such that the two circumferential ends displace generally toward each other to reduce the outside diameter of the ring for installation into the retention groove. An arcuate conductor has an outer radial end attached to the mounting ring, an inner radial end engageable with the shaft or the bearing inner ring and two circumferential ends spaced apart to define an arcuate gap when the conductor is installed about a shaft or a bearing inner ring. An electrically conductive path extends between the shaft and the outer member through the arcuate conductor and the mounting ring.

    Abstract: An insulating device for a bearing mountable within a housing, the bearing having an inner ring and an outer ring with an outer circumferential surface and opposing axial ends and a plurality of rolling elements disposed there between. The insulating device comprises: a first annular part, which is adapted to be in contact to the outer circumferential surface of the outer ring, and a second annular part, which is also adapted to be in contact to the outer circumferential surface of the outer ring. The first and second part form the insulation device which is adapted to contact, in an assembled state of the bearing in the housing, both the outer ring and the housing. The first part is thermally conductive and electrically insulating and the second part is electrically insulating and less thermally conductive than the first part or is not thermally conductive.
