    摘要: An optical receiver including: a preamplifier capable of changing a conversion gain in accordance with a reception level of a received burst signal; a gain control circuit capable of switching between a fast time constant and a slow time constant; and a convergence determination circuit for outputting a time constant switching signal in accordance with a state of the gain control circuit (transient state or steady state) and a reset signal between the burst signals. This configuration can switch the time constant of the gain control circuit at an appropriate timing.

    摘要: In an optical access system, the OLT includes a CP inserting unit that inserts a CP into a downlink signal; a CP removing unit that removes a CP from an uplink signal received from the ONU; and an FFT unit, an EQ unit, and an inverse FFT unit that perform equalization on the uplink CP-removed signal according to a frequency domain equalization scheme based on an inverse characteristic of the characteristic of a transmission line leading to the ONU.     摘要: An optical receiver for stably reproducing packets having different light receiving levels is disclosed. The optical receiver includes: a light receiving element for outputting a current in response to a light receiving level of an optical signal; a preamplifier for converting the current signal outputted from the light receiving element into a voltage signal; a circuit for detecting a consecutive same binary symbols portion from a binary symbols stream of the voltage signal outputted from the preamplifier to output a time constant switching signal in response to a detection result thereof; a level detecting circuit for detecting a voltage level of the voltage signal outputted from the preamplifier based upon a time constant which is switched/controlled in response to the time constant switching signal; and an amplifier for amplifying an output voltage of the level detecting circuit to apply a control voltage for controlling the gain to the preamplifier.

    摘要: Light signals of first to n-th bands amplified en bloc undergo proper attenuation through an adjustable optical attenuator in conformance with attenuation in an optical fiber connected to input of an optical amplifying repeater apparatus, whereon the light signals are demultiplexed or separated into individual bands and amplified by first to n-th fixed-gain optical amplifiers (#1, . . . , #n) each having a high fixed gain in the respective bands to be subsequently multiplexed by an optical multiplexer and then sent out onto a transmission line. A monitoring light branching device extracts a part of light power of a specific monitoring wavelength, which is then fed to an adjustable attenuator control circuit which controls the attenuation factor of the adjustable optical attenuator so that the light power of the specific wavelength remains constant. The gain of the optical amplifying repeater apparatus at the specific wavelength can thus be determined. By employing as the optical amplifying medium a substantially homogeneous medium, the gain for the other wavelengths can be fixed. The optical amplifying repeater apparatus whose gain is essentially independent of the change in the number of the wavelengths can thus be realized.

    摘要: Provided is a point-to-multipoint optical communication system capable of extending a transmission distance between a subscriber apparatus and a station apparatus without changing wavelengths of an upstream optical signal and a downstream optical signal, which are used in both of the apparatuses. The point-to-multipoint optical communication system includes, as a basic configuration thereof, an optical network for connecting one station apparatus (1) to a plurality of (n) subscriber apparatuses (4). Among m basic configurations, one station-side wavelength multiplexer/demultiplexer (22), one optical fiber transmission line (30), and one subscriber-side wavelength multiplexer/demultiplexer (12) are shared. The point-to-multipoint optical communication system further includes a station-side repeating unit (20) and a subscriber-side repeating unit (10) each including the one wavelength multiplexer/demultiplexer (22 or 12) and m wavelength converters (21 or 11). An optical signal having a conventionally-used wavelength is used between the station apparatus (1) and the station-side repeating unit (20) and between the subscriber apparatus (4) and the subscriber-side repeating unit (10), and an extensible optical signal, on which wavelength division multiplexing has been performed, is used between the wavelength multiplexers/demultiplexers (12 and 22) via the optical fiber transmission line (30).
