    摘要: An implantable body including an outer membrane forming an enclosure for receiving a filler material. The surface of the outer membrane is characterized by a random distribution of peaks separated by valleys. The peaks and valleys are separated by gradual contoured slopes with a smooth transition between the peaks and valleys which are substantially free from indentation. The enhanced surface provides improved anchoring of the implant, yet reduces host reaction. The enhanced surface is formed by depositing a distribution of cured polymeric particles on an uncured tacky surface. This intermediate surface is then cured, followed by application of a layer of uncured elastomeric material. The entire surface is then cured to form the enhanced surface.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a stent having a generally tubular stent body with a first end region, a second end region, and a third region therebetween. The stent has a plurality of circumferential serpentine bands and a plurality of connector columns. Each connector column is located between two immediately adjacent serpentine bands, with each connector column having at least one connector. Connectors are connected at one end to one serpentine band and at the other end to an immediately adjacent serpentine band. The connectors of the first and second end regions have a first length which is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, and the connectors of the third region have a length greater than the first length and form an oblique angle relative to the longitudinal axis.

    摘要: A bifurcated stent having a side branch constructed out of a bioabsorbable material. The side branch comprises one or more bio cells which are flexible and easily deformable when the stent is in the unexpanded state. The bio cells have a locking member which fixedly holds the bio cells in place once the stent assumes the expanded state. The locking member uses oppositely directed hooks or ratchet teeth to prevent contraction in the bio cells once the expanded state is assumed. By having an appropriate alternation between flexibility and rigidity the side branch is flexible enough to deal with the geometric difficulties of bending and deploying a side branch while being fixed and rigid enough to properly support and scaffold a side branch assembly. The deployment of the side branch can be facilitated by the use of a ratcheting device. The side branch can also have a flared shape.
