    摘要: Disclosed is a loop-back optical network terminal using a Febry-Perot laser diode as an active type optical modulator in a wavelength division multiplexing based optical network. In addition, a wavelength division multiplexing based optical network having the same is disclosed. The optical network terminal comprises a modulation timing control signal generator receiving a downstream optical signal transmitted from a central office and generating a timing control signal designating a start timing and an end timing for modulating an upstream optical signal to be transmitted from a user to the central office; an upstream data control circuit generating upstream data according to the timing control signal and controlling modulation of the upstream optical signal according to the timing control signal in response to generation of the upstream data; and a modulator receiving the upstream data and directly modulating the upstream data with loop-backing the downstream optical signal to produce the upstream optical signal and then output it to the central office.

    摘要: A DTV transmitting system includes a frame encoder, a randomizer, a block processor, a group formatter, a deinterleaver, and a packet formatter. The frame encoder builds an enhanced data frame and encodes the frame two times for first and second error correction, respectively. It further permutes a plurality of encoded data frames. The randomizer randomizes the permuted enhanced data, and the block processor codes the randomized data at a rate of 1/N1. The group formatter forms a group of enhanced data having one or more data regions and inserts the data coded at the rate of 1/N1 into at least one of the data regions. The deinterleaver deinterleaves the group of enhanced data, and the packet formatter formats the deinterleaved data into enhanced data packets.

The first known data detector detects a location of a first known data sequence in a broadcast signal by calculating a first correlation value between the broadcast signal and a first reference known data sequence. Similarly, the second known data detector detects a location of a second known data sequence in the broadcast signal by calculating a second correlation value between the broadcast signal and a second reference known data sequence. The selector selects the location information detected by one of the first and second known data detectors with a greater correlation value.

    摘要: Provided are an apparatus and method for tracking a wavelength in a passive optical subscriber network in which a central base station and at least one subscriber terminal are connected via a remote node. The apparatus includes a first wavelength aligning unit multiplexing and aligning wavelengths of optical signals from a plurality of single-mode optical sources of the central base station; a second wavelength aligning unit multiplexing and aligning wavelengths of optical signals transmitted to the remote node from a plurality of single-mode optical sources of the subscriber terminal; and a third wavelength aligning unit demultiplexing and aligning wavelengths of optical signals from the second wavelength aligning unit, the third wavelength aligning unit being included in the central base station. Accordingly, when the wavelengths of passbands of a multiplexer/demultiplexer (MUX/DEMUX) of a remote station change due to a change in the ambient temperature, wavelength tracking is performed by making aligned the wavelengths of optical sources of a central base station, a multiplexer/demultiplexer, and subscriber terminals, thereby minimizing optical channel loss and enabling reliable management of WDM-PON.
