    Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a system may have a configurable control loop technology, wherein the system comprises a first mode control loop, a second mode control loop and a reconfigurable pulse width modulator (PWM) configured to generate an output signal from an input signal. The reconfigurable PWM may include a digital PWM and an analog PWM and may be configured such that when the first mode control loop is activated, the reconfigurable PWM utilizes the analog PWM to generate the output signal from the input signal and when the second mode control loop is activated, the reconfigurable PWM utilizes the digital PWM to generate the output signal from the input signal and the digital PWM receives its input from a digital proportional integral derivative controller.

    Abstract: The application describes a switched driver (401) for outputting a drive signal at an output node (402) to drive a load such as a transducer. The driver receives respective high-side and low-side voltages (VinH, VinL) defining an input voltage at first and second input nodes and has connections for first and second capacitors (403H, 403L). A network of switching paths is configured such that each of the first and second capacitors can be selectively charged to the input voltage, the first input node can be selectively coupled to a first node (N1) by a path that include or bypass the first capacitor, and the second input node can be selectively coupled to a second node (N2) by a path that includes or bypasses the second capacitor. The output node (402) can be switched between two switching voltages at the first or second nodes. The driver is selectively operable in different operating modes, where the switching voltages are different in each of said modes.

    Abstract: A power output circuit supplies an audio power output signal that is adjusted to prevent clipping when needed based on an estimate of available energy from the power supply supplying the power output circuit. The power output circuit may be an audio power output circuit that generates an audio power output signal from samples of an audio program that are stored in a buffer. A processing block determines an energy requirement for producing the audio power output signal from the audio program and adjusts an amplitude of the audio power output signal in conformity with the determined energy requirement and an available energy determined for the power supply so that the audio power output signal is reproduced without clipping of the audio power output signal.
