摘要: An electrical connector includes an insulating housing defining a base portion and a tongue portion extending forwards from a front face of the base portion, a plurality of terminals, a shielding shell and a detect pin. Each contact defines a solder portion extending towards a bottom face of the base portion and a contacting portion located on a first surface of the tongue portion. The shielding shell surrounds the insulating housing and forms a receiving cavity for being inserted by a counter connector with an insulating tongue portion and a shielding member surrounding the insulating tongue portion. The receiving cavity is divided into a housing receiving portion for receiving the insulating tongue portion of the counter connector and a shell receiving portion for receiving the shielding member. The detecting pin has an arc section projecting only into the shell receiving portion of the receiving cavity.

摘要: A flame retardant thermoplastic composition having excellent physical properties that includes 30 to 90 wt. % of a polycarbonate resin; from 1 to 35 wt. % of an impact modifier; from 0.1 to 15 wt. % of a phosphorus-containing flame retardant, from 1 to 30 wt. % of metal fiber, and from 0.002 to 5 wt. % of a processing additive, each based on the total combined weight of the thermoplastic composition, exclusive of any filler. The processing additive permits flame retardant characteristics to be maintained despite lower levels of flame retardant while the lower levels of flame retardant permit the compositions, and molded samples of these compositions, to have higher HDT and/or impact strengths as compared to compositions having higher levels of flame retardants. A molded sample of the thermoplastic composition is capable of achieving UL94 V0 rating at a thickness of 1.5 mm (±10%). The compositions are useful in forming flame retardant articles having EMI shielding characteristics.

摘要: A heat pump system includes a hot gas bypass defrost mechanism which enables normal heat pump operation at low ambient air temperatures, and may be used for heating swimming pools. The bypass defrost mechanism is activated by sensing a drop in compressor suction line pressure, which occurs at low ambient temperatures when frost forms on an evaporator in the heat pump, which disrupts normal heat pump operation. The defrost mechanism includes a circuit that redirects a portion of hot refrigerant discharged by a compressor directly to the evaporator, thereby bypassing other heat pump components and defrosting the evaporator.

摘要: A method of controlling the degree of IFVEI for post-growth tuning of an optical bandgap of a semiconductor heterostructure. The resultant layer structure may contain a semi-conductor heterostructure with one or more regions with selectively modified bandgap. According to one aspect of the invention, a metal interlayer is deposited between the heterostructure and a dielectric layer such as silica. According to another aspect of the invention, an oxidized surface is provided between a dielectric layer and the heterostructure. The presence of the oxide layer improves stability and reproducibility in the post-annealing process. In a further aspect, the oxide layer may be provided between the interlayer and the heterostructure. In one embodiment of the invention, a photoresist mask with a specific pattern is deposited on the surface of the heterostructure so that the interlayer is deposited in an unmasked region whereon post-growth tuning results. In another embodiment, multiple photolithography is performed to deposit interlayers of varying thickness and/or regions on the heterostructure, followed by thermal post-annealing of the dielectric layer. This method produces heterostructures with optical bandgaps having selectively tuned regions.

摘要: A communication system selection algorithm (SSA) implemented by a mobile station chooses between available systems to select a system to serve the mobile station. During initialization, the SSA causes the mobile station to scan the environment and compare available communication systems to determine the best system to provide service. After an initial system is chosen, the SSA causes the mobile station to continuously, or at discrete time intervals, scan the environment for available systems, thus allowing for a seamless switch to an available system whenever a handoff is desired. The SSA chooses the best available system based on measurements of each available system and applying preference rules defined by a service provider and/or user of the mobile station.

摘要: A method and apparatus for washing solid substrate with ultrasonic wave after hybridization reaction are provided. The method includes (1) putting the solid substrate into a container having a washing solution, on which the hybridization reaction has been completed, (2) using an ultrasonic generator to produce a certain strength of ultrasonic wave and transmit it into the washing solution, (3) washing the substrate by means of the cavitation effect being produced in the washing solution by the ultrasonic wave. Since the cavitation bubbles in the washing solution can produce intensive efflux and local microslipstream against the solid surface, evidently reducing the liquid surface tension and friction and enhance the liquid flow, non-specific adsorbate and deposit bound weakly on the solid substrate can be washed down rapidly.

摘要: ntion is directed to the management of data burst requests. In iethod of the invention operates to determine a measure of one or parameters, which in an advantageous embodiment are the input z amount of data available in the input data buffer at the beginning t. The invention then proceeds to the selection of an operating data burst as a function of the input data parameter measures. In an nbodiment, the operating data rate is determined by computing the red data rate as a function of the input data rate and the data content fer at the beginning of the data burst, with the operating data rate lowest supported system data rate that is equal to or greater than the ed data rate. In a further step, the invention proceeds to a selection r the data burst from the burst durations supported by the wireless ction of the selected operating data rate and an end-of-burst data er. Advantageously, the system duration is selected that that, when selected operating data rate, provides a minimum end-of-burst data
