    Abstract: A system for noise localization for a vehicle includes a plurality of vehicle sensors. The plurality of vehicle sensors includes at least one of a microphone, a vibration sensor, a vehicle road speed sensor, and a vehicle motor speed sensor. The system also includes a controller in electrical communication with the plurality of vehicle sensors. The controller is programmed to perform a plurality of measurements of a noise produced by a defective part of the vehicle using the plurality of vehicle sensors. The controller is further programmed to determine a location of the defective part within the vehicle based at least in part on the plurality of measurements using at least one of a machine learning based method and an analytical method. The controller is further programmed to identify the defective part of the vehicle based at least in part on the location of the defective part within the vehicle.

    Abstract: A method for automatic pairing of two devices for wireless communication includes detecting, by a first device, that a second device is in a communicable range of the first device, where the first device has not been paired with the second device for wireless communication. The method may include determining, by the first device, by communicating with a third device, that the second device is paired with the third device. The first device and the third device are also paired previously. The method may include transmitting, by the third device, a key material to the second device. The method may include confirming, by the first device and by the second device, that the key material matches. The method may include establishing, by the first device, a communication link with the second device for wireless communication in response to the key material being a match.

    Abstract: A system within an ego vehicle for robust association of a physical identity and a virtual identity of a target vehicle includes a data processor, including a wireless communication module and a visible light communication module, positioned within an ego vehicle, and a plurality of perception sensors, positioned within the ego vehicle and adapted to collect data related to a physical identity of the target vehicle and to communicate the data related to the physical identity of the target vehicle to the data processor via a communication bus, the data processor within the ego vehicle adapted to receive, via a wireless communication channel, data related to a virtual identity of the target vehicle, associate the physical identity of the target vehicle with the virtual identity of the target vehicle, and initiate, via the wireless communication channel and a visible light communication channel, a challenge-response protocol between the ego vehicle and the target vehicle.

    Abstract: A system for mitigating a vehicle collision includes a global navigation satellite system (GNSS), at least one ranging sensor, and a controller. The controller is programmed to retrieve geographical data including at least a location of the vehicle using the GNSS and determine an activation status based at least in part on the location of the vehicle. The controller is further programed to detect a remote vehicle traveling in a cross-traffic lane relative to the vehicle using the at least one ranging sensor in response to the activation status being the activated status. The controller is further programmed to determine a predicted path of the remote vehicle using the at least one ranging sensor in response to detecting the remote vehicle. The controller is further programmed to perform a collision-mitigating action in response to determining that the predicted path of the remote vehicle is a collision path.
