Abstract: A photo curable ink composition includes a photo-reactive binder, a water soluble polymeric sensitizer, a water soluble photoinitiator, a colorant, and a balance of water. The water soluble polymeric sensitizer includes a functionalized anthrone moiety, a polyether chain, and an amide linkage or an ether linkage attaching one end of the polyether chain to the functionalized anthrone moiety. The water soluble photoinitiator having a formula (I) of: wherein n is any integer from 1 to 5 and M is a metal with a valence from 1 to 5.

Abstract: The present disclosure is drawn to a reactive polyurethane dispersion including a polymer strand having a polymer backbone that has two ends terminating at a first capping unit and a second capping unit. The polymer backbone can include polymerized monomers including a reactive diol and a diisocyanate. The reactive diol can be an acrylate-containing diol, a methacrylate-containing diol, an allyl-containing diol, or combination thereof. The first capping unit can be an allyl-containing monoalcohol reacted with an isocyanate group of the diisocyanate. The second capping unit can be an ionic stabilizing group.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an inkjet printing process that comprises applying a radiation-curable primer composition onto a substrate to form a primer layer. The primer composition comprises a curable polyurethane dispersion, a photoinitiator and water. An inkjet ink composition is inkjet printed onto the primer layer as a printed inkjet ink layer. The inkjet ink composition comprises a colorant, a curable polyurethane dispersion, a photoinitiator and water. The curable polyurethane is dispersed in the inkjet ink composition in an amount of composition is 0.1 to 30 weight % of the inkjet ink composition. The printed inkjet ink layer is cured on the substrate by exposing both the primer layer and printed inkjet ink layer on the substrate to radiation.

Abstract: Herein is disclosed a method of transfer inkjet printing comprising jetting a radiation curable inkjet ink onto an intermediate transfer member of an inkjet printer to form an image; irradiating the radiation curable inkjet ink on the intermediate transfer member to form an at least partially cured image; and transferring the at least partially cured image to a substrate to form a printed substrate. Herein is also disclosed a transfer inkjet printing apparatus adapted, in use, to perform the method.
