Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed in part toward a runway assessment and landing safety (RALS) service comprising a runway condition model configured to provide enhanced runway condition assessment and vehicle landing safety for one or more vehicles. Embodiments are configured to process runway condition data aggregated from a plurality of runway condition data sources that describe a surface condition associated with a plurality of sections of a runway in order to generate adjusted runway condition codes for the plurality of sections of the runway. The adjusted runway condition codes are generated by the runway condition model based on a confidence associated with initial runway condition codes associated with the plurality of sections of the runway. Embodiments are configured to generate required landing parameters for the plurality of sections of the runway in order to determine a required runway length for a respective vehicle.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for assisting operation of a vehicle using speech recognition. One method involves recognizing an audio input as an input voice command including a commanded value for an operational subject, automatically identifying an expected value for the operational subject that is different from the commanded value, providing a graphical representation of the input voice command on a graphical user interface (GUI) display and providing a selectable GUI element associated with the expected value for the operational subject on the GUI display. After selection of the selectable GUI element, a destination system associated with the vehicle is commanded to execute a command corresponding to the input voice command using the expected value for the operational subject.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for runway overrun alerts for an aircraft using manually entered parameters for a non-standard runway. The method includes accessing an interface for an enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS). The following parameters are then manually entered: identification of the non-standard runway; a displaced threshold of the non-standard runway; surface conditions of the non-standard runway; a declared length of the non-standard runway; and availability of thrust reversers on the aircraft. The parameters for the aircraft to safely land and stop on the non-standard runway are calculated with the EGPWS. An alert with the EGPWS is generated if the stopping point of the aircraft is near or beyond the end of the non-standard runway.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a searchlight mounted to an aerial vehicle. The systems and methods receive angular data representing a directional angle of a beam of the searchlight and location data representing a global location of the aerial vehicle from a sensor system of the aerial vehicle. The systems and methods determine coverage of the beam of the searchlight on ground based on the angular data and the location data. Based on the coverage of the beam, the aerial vehicle is controlled to change the global location, the display is controlled to depict the coverage of the beam on a map including historical coverage of the beam, and/or the searchlight actuator is controlled to adjust the direction of the beam.

Abstract: A flight deck system for converting a clearance message into sub-tasks for flight crew to execute is provided. The flight deck system comprises a controller configured to: receive the intent of instructions in a clearance message; determine a set of flight-crew executable instructions for performance to meet the intent of the instructions in the clearance message; group the set of instructions as a list of tasks; retrieve aircraft state information from one or more onboard avionics systems; determine context sensitive elements related to the set of instructions in the list of tasks using the retrieved aircraft state information; add the context sensitive elements to the list of tasks; and cause the list of tasks, which includes the set of instructions and the context sensitive elements, to be displayed for flight crew viewing on a display device.

The GUI display includes GUI elements for selectively removing subsets of audio segments classified into particular topic categories from the time-ordered sequence.
