Abstract: Methods, systems and related graphical user interface displays are provided for assisting operation of a vehicle in a vicinity of a docking location. A docking graphical user interface display includes lateral deviation markers, vertical deviation markers, a first graphical indication with respect to the lateral deviation markers and a second graphical indication with respect to the vertical deviation markers. A position of the first graphical indication with respect to the lateral deviation markers corresponds to a first difference between the current location of the vehicle and the reference stopping location in a lateral direction, and a second position of the second graphical indication with respect to the vertical deviation markers corresponds to a second difference between the current location of the vehicle and the reference stopping location in a longitudinal direction.

Abstract: A wake energy formation flight plan is received from a formation flight coordination ground station at a first aircraft. The wake energy formation flight plan includes an aircraft identifier of a second aircraft and a formation flight path. The formation flight path is along a portion of a first flight path of the first aircraft that overlaps with a portion of a second flight path of the second aircraft. A paired communication channel is established between the first FMS of the first aircraft and a second FMS of the second aircraft while the first and second aircraft are flying in formation along at least a portion of the first formation flight path to enable transmission of first FMS data generated by the first FMS to the second FMS and receipt of second FMS data generated by the second FMS at the first FMS.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for runway overrun alerts for an aircraft using manually entered parameters for a non-standard runway. The method includes accessing an interface for an enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS). The following parameters are then manually entered: identification of the non-standard runway; a displaced threshold of the non-standard runway; surface conditions of the non-standard runway; a declared length of the non-standard runway; and availability of thrust reversers on the aircraft. The parameters for the aircraft to safely land and stop on the non-standard runway are calculated with the EGPWS. An alert with the EGPWS is generated if the stopping point of the aircraft is near or beyond the end of the non-standard runway.

Abstract: A method and system for optimizing an aircraft heading for an intercept of a flight plan has been developed. The method includes activating a flight plan intercept advisory function on a flight management system (FMS) for the aircraft when an aircraft deviates from the active flight plan of the aircraft. The flight plan intercept advisory function identifies intercept points of the active flight plan that is based on an aircraft heading that is selected by a pilot of the aircraft. The advisory function calculates predicted compliance with flight performance and operational parameters of the aircraft at each intercept point. The predicted compliance of flight performance and operational parameters of the aircraft at each intercept point are then displayed to the pilot of the aircraft.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, and non-transitory computer-readable media for generating visual cues for spatial communication coverage. For instance, the method may include obtaining a proposed travel path for a vehicle; locating one or more communication channels accessible to an operator of the vehicle in an area that includes at least a portion of the proposed travel path; and analyzing one or more characteristics of the one or more communication channels to determine one or more positions within the area at which the one or more communication channels will be inaccessible to the operator. The method may further include calculating a present position and a velocity of the vehicle; determining communication channel availability; and presenting the communication channel availability to the operator via a graphical user interface.
