Abstract: An apparatus for diagnosing an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve includes: an EGR apparatus including an EGR line connecting an exhaust line and an intake line and an EGR valve installed in the EGR line; an electric supercharger installed in the intake line to change an internal pressure of an intake manifold; a manifold pressure sensor measuring the internal pressure of the intake manifold; and a controller that when an engine is stopped while a vehicle is running, learns on an amount of opening of the EGR valve, diagnoses a fixation of the EGR valve and e a leakage of the EGR valve based on the internal pressure of the intake manifold detected by the manifold pressure sensor.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a hybrid vehicle is provided. The apparatus includes an engine generating power by combustion of fuel, a driving motor assisting power of the engine and selectively operated as a power generator to generate electric energy and a clutch disposed between the engine and the driving motor. A battery supplies electric energy to the driving motor and charges the electric energy generated in the driving motor. A plurality of electric superchargers are installed in a plurality of intake lines, in which outside air supplied to combustion chambers of the engine flows, respectively and a controller variably adjusts an operating point of the engine.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for controlling a hybrid vehicle are provided. The apparatus includes an engine that generates power by combusting fuel and a drive motor that supplements the power from the engine and operates selectively as an electric generator to produce electrical energy. A clutch is disposed between the engine and the drive motor and a battery supplies electrical energy to the drive motor and is charged with the electrical energy produced by the drive motor. Multiple electric superchargers are installed in multiple intake lines through which outside air to be supplied into a combustion chamber of the engine flows. A controller determines an operation mode of the multiple electric superchargers based on required power of a driver and a state of charge (SOC) of the battery and adjusts the power output from the engine and the power output from the drive motor.

Abstract: A control valve of a multi-supercharger system is provided. The control valve includes a first spool rotatably fitted in a valve body and a second spool fitted in the valve body to be coaxially rotatable together with the first spool. A disk member is installed in the valve body to partition a first chamber, in which the first spool is disposed, and a second chamber, in which the second spool is disposed, from each other. A portion of the disk member includes a communication sector, through which the first chamber and the second chamber communicate with each other. A first inlet and a first outlet are disposed in the valve body and a second inlet and a second outlet are disposed in the valve body. A first valve aperture is formed in the first spool for allowing the first spool to communicate with the communication sector.

Abstract: An engine system according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention may include an engine including a plurality of cylinders; a fuel separator separating into a low-octane fuel and a high-octane fuel based on an octane number; a cylinder deactivation device deactivating some cylinders among the plurality of cylinder based on a driving region; a low-octane fuel injector injecting the low-octane fuel separated by the fuel separator into the plurality of cylinder; a high-octane fuel injector injecting the high-octane fuel separated by the fuel separator into the activated cylinders without being deactivated by the cylinder deactivation device; and a controller configured to control the cylinder deactivation device to deactivate some cylinders or activate all the cylinders, and to control the low-octane fuel injector and the high-octane fuel injector to inject the low-octane fuel or the high-octane fuel into the cylinders.

Abstract: An engine system may include an intake line, and a cylinder deactivation (CDA) device selectively deactivating a portion of combustion chambers in the engine. The engine system may further include a first exhaust manifold connected to a first plurality of combustion chambers mounted with the CDA device, a second exhaust manifold connected to a second plurality of combustion chambers without the CDA device, a first exhaust line connected to the first exhaust manifold, a second exhaust line connected to the second exhaust manifold, and a third exhaust line connected with the first and second exhaust lines through an exhaust gas processing device. In addition, a turbocharger including a turbine is mounted at the first exhaust line and rotated by exhaust gas. An air injection device may supply air to the second exhaust manifold or the second exhaust line in a catalyst heating mode of the exhaust gas processing device.

Abstract: An auxiliary cooling system which is provided separately from an engine cooling passage in a vehicle provided with a turbo engine. The auxiliary cooling system includes a first line which connects a radiator and an intercooler to each other and on which an electric water pump is installed. A second line connects the intercooler and an intake manifold. A third line connects the intake manifold and the radiator, and a bypass valve selectively directly transfers cooling water, heated while passing through a turbine housing provided on a path of the third line, to the radiator or transfers the cooling water to the radiator via an engine block or a heater. Cooling water discharged from the intake manifold passes through an ETC (electronic throttle control) unit and thus reduces a temperature of intake air passing through the ETC unit.
