A circuit configuration for a brake system with anti-lock control and/or traction slip control composed of circuits for conditioning wheel sensor signals, controller circuits for analyzing and processing the conditioned sensor signals and for generating braking pressure control signals, monitoring circuits which process the sensor signals irrespective of the controller circuits, and circuits for exchanging and comparing signals of the controller circuits with corresponding signals of the monitoring circuits. The monitoring circuits have a simpler structure than the controller circuits. The control philosophy is reproduced in the monitoring circuits. In particular, the control phases are determined by the reproduction on the basis of the same control criteria and control parameters which the controller circuits use. The signals of the reproduction circuits are united with the valve-excitation signals in correlation circuits for the detection of errors.

The vehicle reference speed is defined by virtue of the rotational behavior of the individual wheels by way of logic combining, selection according to predetermined criteria and/or comparison with predetermined limit values. The wheel rotational behavior of each wheel is evaluated in comparison to the wheel-related vehicle reference speed (V.sub.Ref) according to several predefined criteria is then classified into reference-defining periods. As a function of ascertained reference-defining period, a vehicle reference value (b.sub.fzg) related to the individual wheel is determined which, together with the wheel-related vehicle reference values of the other wheels, determines the vehicle reference speed.

To control a brake slip control apparatus, the rotational behavior of the wheels or of the axles is sensed with the aid of sensors, and the sensor signals for the generation of valve control signals, by which the braking pressure at the wheels is controlled dependent upon the wheel rotational behavior, will be processed electronically. On the basis of these sensor signals, valve control signals will be produced in at least two independently acting, synchronously driven logical circuit units, which may be integrated circuit configurations or complete "microcontrollers" or single-chip-microcomputers, and the signals' waveforms of each of the two circuit units can be compared and checked for agreement externally and internally at corresponding locations within the two circuit units. Upon the occurrence of variations in the external and/or the internal signals or in the signals' waveform, there will be caused, initiated or prepared a complete or partial disconnection of the brake slip control. A circuit configuration for implementing this method comprises a synchronizable astable multivibrator to process the sensor signals, a valve driver circuit including a level adjusting circuit as well as monitoring circuits for disconnecting the current supply for the regulator and for blocking the valve drivers in the event of interferences or variations in the signals' waveform occurring within the two circuit units. The monitoring circuits, one for each of the two circuit units, act on at least one transistor connected in series in the exciter circuit of a relay, by which the current supply is established or interrupted.

The invention discloses a method for compensating temperature in a system for tire pressure monitoring which is especially implemented by detecting a tire pressure and/or by detecting a tire pressure loss. The method is especially characterized in that the temperature is compensated by determining the gas temperature in the tire by way of at least two items of temperature information and by taking the determined temperature as a basis for said tire inflation monitoring. One significant advantage of this method involves that externally active temperature changes, such as a heat-emitting brake disc causing the wheel rim of the tire and, hence, also a temperature sensor arranged thereat to be heated more intensely than the gas in the tire, do not lead to an indication error with respect to the tire pressure (or a spurious alarm).

The present invention relates to a method of improving the control , behavior of an electronically regulated and/or controlled driving stability control system, wherein input quantities for the control are derived from the rotational behavior of the wheels and wherein in situations which are critical for driving stability, the driving stability is increased by braking pressure introduction and/or braking pressure modulation. In order to obviate the need for a precharging pump, the present invention proposes that criteria for evaluation of the driving situation and for the early detection of a driving situation inhering an increased risk are derived from the rotational behavior of the wheels, and that the commencement of driving stability control is prepared upon detection of a driving situation inhering an increased risk. A brake system for implementing the method is also an object of the present invention.

Pumps for reapply pressure deliver fluid to the wheel brake via this restriction and regulating the pressure in the wheel brake is performed by control of an outlet valve. The throttle valve is operated hydraulically by various arrangements including the application of pump pressure, or by wheel brake pressure applied upon opening of the outlet valve at the start of an anti-lock control cycle.
