摘要: Aspects are disclosed for facilitating a timing alignment in a multicarrier system. In one aspect, at least one downlink timing associated with at least one downlink carrier is determined, and an uplink timing associated with an uplink group of carriers is ascertained based on at least one downlink timing and a timing offset associated with the uplink group of carriers. Each of the uplink group of carriers is then transmitted within a threshold value of the uplink timing. In another aspect, a downlink communication is transmitted to a wireless terminal via at least one downlink carrier. This embodiment further includes assigning a timing offset to an uplink group of carriers, and providing the timing offset to the wireless terminal via the at least one downlink carrier. An uplink communication is then received via the uplink group of carriers according to the timing offset.

摘要: Systems, methods and apparatus for facilitating handover control using resource reservation with frequency reuse are provided. In one embodiment, the method can include: transmitting scheduling information for the transmission of information on frequencies corresponding to an unreserved portion of a frequency band. The method can also include transmitting scheduling information for the transmission of information on frequencies corresponding to a reserved portion of the frequency band. A frequency reuse scheme can be employed over the frequencies corresponding to the reserved portion of the frequency band, and the information transmitted on the frequencies corresponding to the reserved portion of the frequency band can be handover signalling information.

摘要: A resource assignment method during a tune-away procedure comprises determining a first instance in time that a tune-away will initiate with respect to an access terminal, determining a second instance in time that corresponds to a latest frame boundary associated with the access terminal prior to the instance in time that the tune-away initiates, and determining resource assignment parameters associated with the access terminal and implementing the resource assignment parameters at the second instance in time. The method can further comprise ceasing communications to the access terminal over a forward link at the second instance in time and discontinuing monitoring reverse link control channels associated with the access terminal at the second instance in time.

摘要: A quick paging channel in a random access wireless communication system includes at least one bit in a quick paging frame identifying the presence of a paging message for an access terminal or group of access terminals. The quick paging bits identifying the presence of a paging message for a first access terminal is encoded with one or more quick paging bits corresponding to one or more additional access terminals to produce one or more forward error correction bits. The jointly encoded quick paging bits are broadcast to the access terminals by time division multiplexing the quick paging frame with additional frames of information.

摘要: Systems and methodologies are described that provide techniques for managing persistent resource assignments in a wireless communication system. An access point can generate a bitmap by mapping access terminals having persistent assignments for traffic channels to a series of bitmap bits that provide keep-alive indications for the access terminals. The bitmap can then be provided as a common keep-alive message in a broadcast or multicast transmission to the access terminals. The keep-alive message can further include CRC bits for error prevention. An access terminal, upon receiving the keep-alive message, can then determine whether a bitmap bit in the keep-alive message corresponding to the access terminal conveys a keep-alive indication for the terminal and utilize its persistently assigned traffic channels accordingly.
