Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that operate a door latch of a door of a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system electronically based on operating a locking engagement device. The locking engagement device may be disposed on an outer portion of a door, the latch may be part of a latching system disposed on an inner portion of the door, and the locking engagement device may transmit a signal indicating that the locking engagement device is in an open or closed position to the latching system via a conductor electronically coupling the locking engagement device and the latching system. In some embodiments, the locking engagement device may transmit a signal indicating that the locking engagement device is in an open or closed position to a controller, which may then instruct the latching system to open or close the latch based on receiving the signal.

Abstract: A control unit is communicatively coupled to multiple variable frequency drives. The control unit includes a controller, and each variable frequency drive may have a respective controller. The controller of the control unit may be communicatively coupled to each variable frequency drive controller and manage and/or configure the multiple variable frequency drives by sending instructions and/or receiving information from the variable frequency drive controllers. In some embodiments, the control unit may be implemented as a part of a mobile computing device, such that the controller may wirelessly and communicatively couple to each variable frequency drive controller. In this manner, managing or changing settings and/or control parameters of multiple variable frequency drives may be performed via a single control unit, avoiding the tedious, repetitive, and inefficient process of using multiple control units.

Abstract: A system includes a filter assembly having a filter material disposed in an air flow, a first pressure transducer disposed upstream of the filter material with respect to the air flow, a second pressure transducer disposed downstream of the filter material with respect to the air flow, and a controller coupled to the first pressure transducer and the second pressure transducer, where the controller receives feedback from the first pressure transducer and the second pressure transducer indicative of a pressure differential of the air flow across the filter material, and where the controller is configured to index the filter when the pressure differential of the air flow across the filter material exceeds a threshold.

Abstract: A heat exchanger of an HVAC system including an inlet header, an outlet header, and tubes configured to extend between the inlet header and the outlet header. The system also includes a first interchangeable refrigerant distributor segment of the inlet header, where the first interchangeable refrigerant distributor segment includes first orifices configured to fluidly couple with the tubes to facilitate distribution of refrigerant from the inlet header to the tubes in a first configuration. The system also includes a second interchangeable refrigerant distributor segment of the inlet header, where the second interchangeable refrigerant distributor segment includes second orifices configured to fluidly couple with the tubes to facilitate distribution of refrigerant from the inlet header to the tubes in a second configuration. The first orifices include a first characteristic of an orifice cross-sectional internal boundary size or shape, and the second orifices include a second characteristic of the orifice cross-sectional internal boundary size or shape different than the first characteristic.

Abstract: A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes an air flow path through which an air flow is routed. The HVAC system also includes a first condenser coil positioned in the air flow path and configured to receive a first portion of a refrigerant from a refrigerant conduit. The HVAC system also includes a second condenser coil positioned in the air flow path downstream from the first condenser coil relative to the air flow, and configured to receive a second portion of the refrigerant from the refrigerant conduit in parallel with the first portion of the refrigerant received by the first condenser coil.
