An angle of incidence of the demultiplexed optical signal beam on the filter is equal to or greater than 0.5°.

    摘要: A first optical device has an optical fiber mount with an optical fiber disposed thereon, and an optical demultiplexer for demultiplexing a portion of an optical signal beam transmitted through the optical fiber, as a demultiplexed optical signal beam, and guiding the demultiplexed optical signal beam out of the optical fiber. The optical fiber has a first tapered surface for emitting the demultiplexed optical signal beam therethrough. The first tapered surface is inclined at an angle θ1 of at least 1° to an optical axis of the optical fiber. The distance (h) between the optical axis of the optical fiber and the first tapered surface is progressively greater along the direction in which the optical signal beam travels through the optical fiber.

On the back of the base of the PD array, a coating film for preventing degradation in characteristics is formed, wherein the coating film includes an anti-reflective multilayer film.

    摘要: The invention provides an optical phase modulator having a substrate made of an electro-optical material, a signal electrode provided on the substrate and first and second ground electrodes provided on both sides of the signal electrode. The electrodes are provided so that a size of the first gap between the first ground electrode and the signal electrode is smaller than a size of a second gap between the second ground electrode and the signal electrode. Furthermore, an optical waveguide is provided in the first gap as an optical phase modulator and not provided in the second gap. A driving voltage required for the phase adjustments is thereby lowered, the impedance matching is easily made and excellent radio frequency property can be realized.

The shutter member is disposed in a slit and has a function to shut off signal light propagated in the light path of an optical fiber array. The actuator is constructed to drive and move the shutter member in a vertical direction. The shutter member is fixed to one end of the actuator and positioned substantially in alignment with an inclination angle of the slit. Further, a base member of the shutter member is made from transparent quartz glass. A light reflecting film is formed on a portion of one of the plate surfaces of the shutter member, on a surface opposite the optical axis of a light exit portion.
