摘要： Methods useful for the determination of oligomers which have specific activity for a target molecule from a pool of primarily randomly assembled oligomers are provided. The disclosed methods involve repeated syntheses of increasingly simplified sets of oligomers coupled with selection procedures for determining oligomers having the highest activity. Freedom from the use of enzymes allows the application of these methods to any molecules which can be oligomerized in a controlled fashion.

摘要： A novel, facile, and specific process for .alpha.-iodinating or .alpha.-brominating the .alpha.-methylenic carbon of a straight chain, branched chain, or cyclic secondary amide, such as a lactam or an azasteroid, comprises reacting the amide with trialkylsilyl-X (R.sub.3 Si--X), where X is Br, I, or Cl, and R is methyl, ethyl, or n-propyl, in the presence of I.sub.2 or Br.sub.2. The .alpha.-iodo- or .alpha.-bromo-amide is useful for making the .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated amide through dehydrohalogenation.

摘要： A system and method for retrieving an implantable device includes a delivery catheter, a recapture section, and a sheath. The delivery catheter has a proximal end and a distal end. The recapture section is axially extendable from the distal end of the delivery catheter. The sheath has a proximal end and a distal end and a lumen sized to receive the delivery catheter. A portion of the lumen of the sheath is actuatable from an enlarged inside diameter to a reduced inside diameter to apply an inwardly directed force to the recapture section. The delivery catheter can be actuated with respect to the sheath to extend or retract the recapture section with respect to the delivery catheter.

摘要： A stackable rebar support chair having a support chair and a support plate detachable to each other. The support chair includes a base having multiple upstanding posts and downwardly extending legs designed to suspend the base above surface. The base can include multiple holes to permit the free flow of concrete around the support chair. Multiple centering supports can connect to and extend between each of the upstanding posts and an upper surface of the base to provide support to the posts and to permit gravity to assist positioning the supported rebar to a generally central position on the base. The base can include ribs extending from its lower surface to provide support to the base from the weight of the rebar. The support plate can include multiple generally upright pegs having recesses to receive the legs.
